@JasonAtlas dude what xd? Things that affected the market heavily was Covid which affected production of everything, and then there was a shortage of silicon too that affected production on top of that. Prices went up like crazy during the 30 series of Nvidia and hence not many people buy GPUs and if they sell they sell for almost retail value, since production has improved after 30 series prices have gone down a bit better on the 40 series, so you can basically get a 4070 super, comparable in performance to a 3080ti, for around 600$, which is cheap because the 3080ti cost in release 1200$ for the Founders Edition if you were even lucky to get one. We got scalpers too that affected the market, but thanks to prices going down in retail the used market is balancing itself out, it's gonna take some time still but I'm seeing better prices for sure, just wait for a good deal, or negotiate cuz believe me, this people are not gonna sell GPUs at retail prices when the retail prices are finally not so crazy up and very close MSRP

Too expensive for a normal person as long as Nvidia still makes video cards with price tags of 2000€ plus it will lose more and more market share. In the midrange and low end cards Nvidia has already been overtaken by the competition. 90% of the market does not want to spend these prices that is why the AMD 7900 XT and XTX were a great success. In the low end Intel is now taking over the crown.

While I will agree with you that Battlemage isn't going to move the needle as much as people would like to think it will, I also don't think that it's accurate to say that AMD also offered price competitive offerings with more VRAM and they didn't sell, so it's reasonable to think that would be the case with Intel as well. First, AMD hasn't been as aggressive in their pricing as Intel. Second, Intel's ray tracing performance is much better than AMD's and they have a much better video encode/decode engine. Intel is much closer to parity with NVIDIA's feature set than AMD is. But yes... it's going to take time. More time than it took for AMD to really start to eat into Intel's market share in the CPU market. However, I can see Intel eating into AMD's paltry market share pretty quick as they're using their own strat against them and AMD really needs to be more price competitive. However, NVIDIA is starting to use Intel's old strat that got them in trouble, and they're becoming complacent in the gaming space, at least with anything that doesn't end in a 90. Everything under the 90 class is really just lower tier cards being sold as higher tier cards. While it may not happen quickly, I think it will happen eventually if Intel keeps this up and NVIDIA remains complacent.

8:40 Based on the name, I don't think this neural rendering will have any impact on gaming, at best, it might improve the "smart" npcs that have AI smart responses, but it will most likely be a feature useful for AI related professional work.

Fridge. No the applications / services that use AI require graphics cards to work. That is where the money is. That is the market they are targeting. Gaming is small change for them, just gamers are loud.

Frankly, having the 5080 be literally half of a 5090 is jank. If they wanted to do that crap, they need to re-up the titan line, and it'd be the RTX Titan IV with 32gb and a mondo pricetag they want, the 5090 with 24gb, 5080 with 16, 5070 with 12, 5060 with 10gb, and a 5050 with the GTX 970 issues where its either 8gb or 6gb (flip a coin, hence 50/50) for no other reason than the naming lolz.

I think the most condemning thing against tiktok may be how they treat children... in the Chinese version apparently the recommendations are heavily biased towards "good" content. Meaning stuff that is not the nasty, typical social media stuff, but rather more like the best of what youtube content can be as far as learning things. I don't necessarily know if tiktok blocks Chinese children from searching for other content, but the algorithms are set in a good way. At least as compared to how non-adults in the US are being set. The whole spying thing... if you are a government employee or just someone who has some type of security clearance or works at a place that does, then it should just be a heavily enforced company policy that you can not use such an app. Otherwise, it really shouldn't be the governments business. And I say that as someone who has never had the tiktok app on any of my devices.

here's a question for ya. for the price of the cards these days is it worth updating from my GTX 1080ti that cost me €650 when it was new?
@wolfstorm53946 сағат бұрын
@@longshotmagoo Seriously? How is this even a question, that thing is nearly 8 years old now, what do you think?
@longshotmagoo6 сағат бұрын
@wolfstorm5394 I've a 1080p monitor and the card still plays the games i want. So far only game I'm aware doesn't work is the new indiana game then that remake or of Ark kills it hard. Apart from that it's still chugs along fine lol. Prices of new cards is insane which is what's putting me off. I got laughed at for sorrento 650 euro on the 1080ti, which by today's prices was a diving bargain lol
@wolfstorm53945 сағат бұрын
@@longshotmagoo Bro even a 4060 offers better performance than your 1080ti and it does it at only 115W max while yours easily consumes about 250W
@longshotmagoo5 сағат бұрын
@wolfstorm5394 irony there is of i upgrade my monitor to even 1440 then the 1080 wins because of the vram and bus speed advantage lol. Really hoping that the card loses in every area in that generation lol
@wolfstorm53945 сағат бұрын
@longshotmagoo There is no irony here, even at 1440p the 4060 still wins, the 1080Ti is still just fundamentally too slow to make good use of the extra VRAM by today's standards, this VRAM panick that's been going around lately is causing people to think VRAM is the end all and be all, as if VRAM alone will determine how good a GPU is, there's plenty benchmark comparison between the two GPUs here on KZbin for you to check out, the 1080Ti is a bad value GPU by today's standards unless you're buying it for dirt cheap, maybe $50 or so.

Big numbers, big money. My 1070 Ti still shows no slowing down but I still hope I can run games more demanding than Cyberpunk 2077 on it...if there are or will be any. So far no problems. Good luck with the 5 ga jibby jibby and I hope it does well for everyone with enough money to consider it.

Yeah im surprised most of the 50’s have 16gigs and not more. I’d was at least 24. Also, I suspect they are talking about using the CUDA cores for creating graphics. AFAIK they haven’t been yet. CUDA cores really extend the use of the cards.
