the term is Ugly can mean more than just standard visuals, Ugly clearly entails an Ugly Family situation and such, not necessarily that he's Ugly looking, but Ugly lifestyles

This looks fascinating. I wouldn't be surprised if the protagonist's opinion of his father is only one side of the story. Karen Horney theorized that a child's perspective of a parent's actions rather than the parent's intentions plays a key role in the development of neurosis in adulthood. Other games, like Xenogears have explored this subject.

Honestly if my dad was Dio and I turned out like that not only is it entirely in my expectations he'd be an even worse father than he normally would be, I would probably also grow up in a weird-ass castle full of utterly inexplicable shit, traumatic events AND maybe stumble onto strange shards that imbue me with odd powers... On a more serious note, that bed being just SURROUNDED by those strange "reset" flasks really feel like ig's an environmental storytelling thing, but I don't know what it could mean... until I play it for myself, that is :)

I'm really considering buying this for myself now I did watch a video that talked about its full story so I'm spoiled on that front, but now I really wanna try out the puzzles for myself also. some of the commentary is insanely funny and dramatically ironic once you know the whole story. we really could not see the ending coming
