This news report is also covering the convicted perpetrators of the riots, not necessarily required to cover any counter riots, so try to stay on topic. Those Muslims attacking that man happened in the context of Muslims across the country facing violence and potential violence. It doesn't justify individual actions, but they were mobilized into defense of their communities against real and perceived threats that in of themselves had no justifiable cause. Murder requires a conviction, whereas causing the death of someone, or killing, is more factually accurate and leaves the suspect/defendant without a case for defamation/libel if that person is then found innocent. I believe that all British politicians and media owe a solemn apology to Hong Kong and China. The riots in the UK today were actions that were highly supported and appreciated by British politicians and the media in Hong Kong previously. Furthermore, the severity of these riots in the UK is far less than the riots in Hong Kong. At least no universities have been set on fire. The British government and media should also apologize to all demonstrators in the UK, because as they once said to Hong Kong, all these demonstrators have the right to freedom of speech and embrace democracy. Any actions taken against these demonstrators are violent. Those police and the media must be condemned, the government should not prosecute and detain demonstrators, and the government and police need to exercise restraint.
