UK Visitor Visa Application Process | All you need to know

Hi friends! Here below is a list of all the documents you will need for your visa application:
Full original valid passport.
Copy of any previous passports.
A motivational letter from you explaining the reason for your travels to the UK.
Original employment letter confirming employment on company letterhead and signed.
Original six months’ salary slips.
Original six months’ bank statements are needed -savings and cheque accounts. These accounts should not be in overdraft.
Documents confirming your current accommodation such as a tenancy agreement or mortgage statement.
Rates and taxes or utility bill as proof of address.
Letters from family and friends in support of your application. Just stating they know you and that you will be going on vacation and will return to your home country. About 5 will be sufficient.
If you have an e-ticket booked we can add this. But please note that it IS NOT A REQUIREMENT, so DON’T book one yet.
Accommodation in the UK - if you are staying with friends / family, you will require an invitation letter from them inviting you for a visit to the United Kingdom as well as stating that you will be residing with them in the UK.
Copy of their British passport or Visa page in their South African passport.
Utility bills as proof of their address in the UK.

Both of you need to. She does it to prove she can afford to sponsor you, you do it as part of ID checks and to prove you have connections to your home and will return.

Hi Nobue. Thank you for this video. I understand that the short term visitor visa is up to 6 months but may I ask how long your partner/mother stayed with you in London? and if you stated the specific duration in the application.

My mum stayed 3 weeks, had to go back to work. My husband stayed the full 6 months because Covid happened. I had stated 3 weeks for mum and 1 month for my husband in the application form. It doesn't have to be the specific duration. Just don't state 6 months and if possible don't let your person stay the full 6 month. Rather they stay a few months, leave for a bit and come back later within the visa validity period.

Hi Nobue, my longtime friend in Tanzania would like to come and visit me in the UK. We have tried twice before, but refused on the grounds of not having enough reason for her to return home, i.e. employment or permanent address. She has since bought a plot of land and had a house built, and is now in possession of the TZ local council residence permit for the house. Our problem now is the employment letter, and 6 months pay slips. She has never had proper employment..... like a lot of people in TZ, always relying on self employment / odd jobs. Would it be better to put "self employed" on the application form, but not be able to provide evidence, or to just put unemployed?? How much "weight" do they put on the employment issue??? After all, most people with 9-5 jobs would not be in a position to leave to country for up to six anyway!

Hi there should be an option to upload documents at the end of your application and there should be instructions on how to do it. I think you can only see them when you get to that stage of the application form. On the children, I'm not sure. I have not seen any exception for children so my guess is you need to do separate applications for them.
