Ukraine Releases Victory Plan

Ukraine has released their 5 point victory plan and this is what those 5 points are.
Ukraine gets an immediate and unconditional invitation to join NATO.
Ukraine is allowed to strike inside Russia and its neighbors. NATO members will withdraw their air defenses and now conduct joint operations defending the skies over Ukraine.
This is a nonnuclear deterrence plan, this is classified and has only been presented to the Americans, Brits, French, Italians, and Germans.
This would allow NATO countries to use Ukrainian resources for their own economies as well as help rebuild the Ukrainian economy.
Ukraine’s soldiers will take the place of US soldiers in Europe after the war as Ukrainians will be the most experienced fighting force in the world and the only force trained on all NATO equipment.
There are also 3 additional classified points. It’s certainly a bold plan and it’s entirely realistic even if it makes Washington very uncomfortable. Ukraine is pushing to join NATO by January 20th. Russia says this will push them closer to war with NATO. Look, there are 10,000 North Korean troops in Ukraine, and they continue to strike civilians with Iranian and Chinese drones and missiles. The European side of NATO is much more willing to expand this war in light of the Russian escalation of adding countries into the war because it’s easier to beat the Russians and Koreans at Kharkiv than Warsaw. But the US is very timid about it all, with them even vetoing actions that wouldn’t even include them if they deem them escalatory.

Worth pointing out that an invitation to NATO is not a membership. They want to get an invitation now and join the alliance sometime after the war ends, as stated in the plan.

To be honest I'd rather have Ukraine soldiers helping protect our allies in Europe than the US being there. Not only does it benefit the US by not worrying too much about what's going on in Europe but it's a good thank you gift for the Europeans for all the support they've given to Ukraine. It wouldn't have the same effect as the US leaving the middle east but it's a good start in bringing a lot of are guys home, though to be fair they'd probably miss it since it's probably more a vacation in away than being deployed in say Iraq or Saudi Arabia
@Seth-Halo

Tbf, as good as that would be, they always have to be worried about everywhere because you never know what will happen. America tried to stay out of world war 1 and 2 at least directly. Until it came to them. Even if the troops left in full, the US would still be worried about what happens there because Europe is still allies so if something did happen, it isn't like US would just turn a blind eye on the past 100+ years of cooperation.

Why not both. The US would never have this unless everyone’s buying our weapons. Our government wants to have full military power over the world, this is nothing more than a potential roadblock for that. If anything, it’s going to force the US to look over and revise the plan directly instead of mostly ignoring it, this is ukraines way of saying, “do more or I’m going to take your place.” Either the US takes it in stride and amps up the help, fall behind and lose their spot in Europe or retaliate and screw over Eastern Europe for the sake of money and power.

@@GoldAxoMC I mean hundreds of billions of dollars vs what the afghans did? Not really, they're not doing very well if you ask me. I mean they didn't crumble over night but they've had massive losses(which any military strategist will say offensive moves will always net 3 to 1 losses) id say they're doing worse than average concidering how much "aid" they've received. Especially since Russia doesn't have a robust airforce or navy. Russia wanted crimea, and to consume the dpr and lpr, which along with crimea, all are very pro russia. I’ll be that guy. Trusting any other foreign power, ally or otherwise, with all of our bases in Europe including our own equipment. Is an absolutely ridiculous idea. Weren’t their suspicions of Ukrainian generals working with Russia? To the point of putting being relieved of duty? My memory of it is kind of fuzzy on it tbh. Just remember, Russia and China operate on different timescales than US politicians who can be replaced every few years. Maybe we avoid ww3 for right now. But IF things turn in 2-3 generations, long enough for significant culture shift, then we just may have a non-allied country with our tech and bases. Not to mention a greater chance for the hearts and minds in other European countries to be altered slowly into something not favorable for us.

Having been one of the honored few to earn an expeditionary badge on my SE Asia combat medal, I can say with confidence that the US does not need "the most experienced with NATO equipment" to operate that equipment. There is no shortage of volunteers who are itching to earn their combat stripes. One of the reasons I left the military was when I attended a military ceremony with CSMs (plural) that had fewer combat stripes than myself, despite having zero encouragement to pursue promotion myself. The US needs more combat veterans, specifically to maintain the tradition of leaders who know what they're teaching to the troops being taught. A military without experience is waiting to be to schooled by their opponents.

I can see that being... feasible, in a generous sense, but I have no desire to see the US pull out of Europe. It's critical to our war logistics to have our own bases all across the world, and though Ukraine IS in top shape to fight a defensive war, they have quite literally zero experience in managing global military logistics, not to mention the fact that a good chunk of their equipment is donated and borrowed, with their own nation having zero capacity to produce its own. Why would anyone (anyone who likes the US and/or Nato being a major world power anyways) even consider this? Why would Ukraine even *want* this? I'd think the vast bulk of their soldiers just want to be done with fighting, not turn it into a career.

Russia and the Gank playing smartcard, while Euro Branch NATO took precautiously on supporting Ukraine so they giving Ukraine piece by piece with restrictions (even Germany already stopped). Russian Gank makes US global armed force busy everywhere with Iran and it proxies in middle east, North Korea in Asia Peninsula, China with Taiwan and West Phillipine Sea. Venezuela also makes small maneuver to neighbour that draw US Atlantic Fleet to go near. The Fact that action taken by European NATO in behalf of Ukraine, reminds me of the beginning of the WW II. While Western Europe take easy on N4ZI movement to czech, Poland, and nearby country. They shock when suddenly N4zi are on their backyard when wehrmarcht easily took on Belgium, Netherlands and start to swollen France. So for European NATO, Ukraine is bumper state to adsorb Russian military personnel and equipment while Baltics NATO are the buffer countries before NATO send their Quick Reaction Force. Interesting to see Russian Moves ahead, do they had enough? Do they exhausted? Or do they Plan just like this? All stop on Eastern part of Ukraine?
