The washing machine thing is interesting... because in essence Russia is paying $800 - $1000 for an advanced washing machine in order to get a $25 semiconductor chip out of it. And really because the companies breaking the sanctions are taking such a great risk, and because of the convuluted shipping.. it is probably up above $3000 in order to get a $25 part.

35:00 GER budget committee HAS upped the military aid by 12 billion EUR (on top of the already budgeted 2,2 billion for 2023). 4 billion goes to the Bundeswehr to replace materiel (to be) delivered to Ukr. 8 billion is available for Ukr to conclude deals with GER arms manufacturers.

The Telegraph should review their comments implying about American Republican party voters wanting to curb support for Ukraine. It seems highly unlikely politician DeSantis would have to quickly "modify" statements suggesting reduced support for Ukraine if the idea was at all popular with American Republican voters. The Telegraph might start by providing properly reviewed and documented numbers on American Republican voters wanting to curb support for Ukraine.

Republican politicians have a deliberate strategy of talking out of both sides of their mouth. The GOP Base reflexively opposes any policy that Biden supports. DeSantis' supporters will only hear the messaging which validates their own world view.

Why is Russia so interested in getting washing machines??? Ok, i understand that they need processor chips. But why washing machines? I never thought of my washing machine as cutting-edge technology, and it seems a huge piece of equipment to acquire a very small part? Sorry, I'm completely baffled.

Somehow I get the feeling when Ukraine is poised and ready to take back Crimea, the US will step in an stop them to prevent escalation.
@rolandxor179

The problem is more that the US doesn't want Ukraine to go into Russia. Which might be needed in order to end the war.
@dgranik4839
@dgranik4839 Жыл бұрын
The USA correctly recognizes Crimea as being Ukrainian territory, and officially does not recognize the claimed sovereignty of Russia, even as t G e Russian Military is currently occupying the Crimean Peninsula. However, focusing of the Liberation of Crimea is akin to putting the cart in front of the horse. As of now, taaking back Crimea is a rather abstract and far off prospect for Ukraine. A necessary antecedent is for Ukraine to recapture all of Kherson Oblast, enabling them to establish close artillery observation over the Perekop Isthmus which forms the land connection between Crimea and Kherson.

I think they're lying about the map in bakhmut to save face and avoid a major embarrassment. The map stopped being updated right as the highway became in range of direct fire, the road is probably not even passible by heavy trucks that would have needed to go off-road. It's likely the city was cut off, they have a precedent to lie about everything, it's curious everyone is going along with it and not asking hard questions.

Terrific show! And by far my favourite daily podcast. Could I risk a minor criticism? Several of your speakers repeatedly insist on pronouncing the word "nuclear" (pertaining to atomic energy/weapons/strategy etc) as "nucular" (pertaining to nuts). I, and perhaps others, find that this unfortunate habit diminishes the strength of the message.

Since the End of March, 2022 (One Year Ago), Ukraine has a net gain of territory -- that is, Ukraine has liberated substantial swaths of land in Kharkhiv and Kherson, and only suffered incremental, relatively smaller, losses on the Donbas front. Without a doubt, Russia has suffered substantially heavier casualties than it has managed to impose on the Ukrainians. Finally. The Ukrainian Military undoubtedly has greater capacity and capabilities than it did a Year ago, and even more sophisticated and powerful weapons are in the pipeline from the West and from NATO.

MOVING FORWARD, ALWAYS. 30.03.2023. The assault detachments of the Russian paratroopers from the city of Ivanovo, under the leadership of the chief of staff, took control of several enemy strongholds with the support of artillery, drones and tanks. The Russian officer shows some of the trophies that the Russians captured. Among them is an American backpack that says 'US backpack, Assault II, coyote tan, No. 30343R, MFH'. On another backpack of a killed Ukrainian soldier, his last, first and patronymic name is written. On the helmet of another - his call sign ‘Барабаш’. At a small stronghold, to which the video is dedicated, there were several corpses of killed Ukrainian soldiers. The Russian paratrooper points out that the corpses of the Ukrainian military, left behind on the battlefield, are mined and it is impossible to approach them.
