That was awesome Stu, great fun to play along to. I bought my first ukulele 3 or 4 months ago as a consequence of suddenly deciding to collect sheet music from the 1930s (that's another story) and soon discovered you on KZbin. I love the instrument, play it everyday and I have come on in leaps and bounds, largely as a result of watching your videos. You are an incredible musician and an inspirational teacher. Thank you for sharing your gift. Namaste.

Just ordered a custom mesh bag so I can hang my carbon fiber uke in the cabin of my sailboat. Stu may not know it yet, but he's going sailing a lot this summer - at 1:00 in the morning I'm going to hit the play button again and practice a few more cool riffs. Thanks Stu! Cheers to another great jam track.

Thanks for being my teacher! And for helping me to discover a love for doo wop. I've recently been playing Earth Angel and that Everly Brothers Dream song. I enjoy it most in D major. So simple and so fun.

Those are great, classic Doo Wop songs....thanks for joining in Jordan!
@wyattstevens8574 Жыл бұрын
Earth Angel is a great example: I think the entire progression is the same! When I was playing along, that's the first example I thought of when I heard the jam track, so I detuned my uke to A445 or so (+18 cents) because the recording from the Back To the Future soundtrack was uptuned that much.

Great fun to keep the mind alert. My fingers don’t like the barre chords and i get a lot of wooden blunking pinging going on. Very frustrating, esp THAT F and its close nemesis E. Cheers and thanks heaps Stu.
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear it Pamela! The smooth follow through is a key element in having a smooth fingerpicking sound. Wave “bye-bye” a few times (like I showed in the video) and then apply that same touch to the strings. You’ll soon develop that smooth sound 😊 Happy jamming and thanks for watching 😃🤙🎶

Hi Spidey, Sorry, at this time I have no lessons for baritone uke specifically...

I meant to start learning ukulele/banjolele (got both) long time ago, where should I start learning ? I’m a key 🎹 player, know how to read music scores. I’ve been following you for a long time, and enjoyed it !
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
Hi Ronnie, Glad you're here and joining in! I have many tutorials that are well suited for beginners at ukulele. I would suggest ou just pick a song or tutoriaand study it...that is to say, watch it a few times in a row and pause the video as you work with it. If you search my channel page you'll find more -- click the icon at the bottom of any of my you tube videos or search you tube for "Ukulele Zen"...and then click on the video tab. Enjoy & happy jamming!

@@UkuleleZen Sounds like a good idea mate ! I think main thing is to play every day, at least a few minutes. Guess you learn the notes on the fretboard eventually, it’s so easy on a piano :) Thx for the advice! Ronnie

Juhuuu key junkie here too. I started 3 1/2 years ago with ukulele. I have found a group around the corner. It‘s not so easy for me, keys are way more comfortable 😂 But now I think about tackling bar chords 😮 And don‘t buy the cheapest ukulele. By the way ukuleles are pack animals, I have 3 and a guitalele 😂 Edit: Is that an Bb-shape for the C???? 😱
@wyattstevens8574 Жыл бұрын
@@chriskei76 It might be a Bb shape for the C, because the Bb chord is movable- if he did that, he just slid that shape up to the 3rd-5th frets.
@sunnyharvy2237 Жыл бұрын
Question: I tried to see how you went from the regular G to Gaug (first position) and could not figure it out. Can you please tell me how your fingers are arranged? I generally slide my index finger up to third fret, but it appears that you are doing something different. Those alternate voices are very challenging for me. My fingers just aren’t ready to bend that way. I’ll keep working on them though. Thanks Stu.

@@UkuleleZen The way I was fingerpicking here was like this: strummed with my thumb on the first half, and my index finger on the other half. Same effect, though.
