Perhaps that is because few options makes choosing easier. There is a story of a fox and a rabbit. The fox and rabbit are being hunted by dogs. The fox always bragged about being more clever than the rabbit. As the dogs approached, the rabbit did what is knows how to do. It ran into a hole and hid quietly. The fox on the other hand with his clever self considered his options. I can do this and I can do that he thought. Never taking action, just feeling impressed at his thinking abilities, until the dogs ate him. Moral of the story, wisdom only benefits when coupled with an appropriate action.

While that is true, in prison you don’t have much responsibility aside from whatever chores you’re assigned. But in real life, we gotta worry about money and work and all. So while that isn’t an excuse not to workout, I think it’s a valid excuse for the argument “we have infinite resources at our fingerprints”. So it’s kinda hard for people to achieve the shape these guys have due to a lack of time and/or resources. Edit: people seem to be taking tbis as though I’m excusing not working out. That’s not my argument. My argument is that we don’t have infinite resources at our fingertips, so we don’t have access to the higher quality products like the rich. But that still isn’t an excuse not to get in shape.

Rather than lazy, I think many humans are stuck in lifestyles that don't allow them to workout like this for 30 min a day, or at least make it much harder, like parents with full time jobs and other obligations or priorities. In prison, as shitty as it is, your lodging is still paid for. Not to mention, prisons having workout yards, whereas people have to pay for a gym membership and take time out of their schedule to drive to said gym if they want to get that bulked up; calisthenics and cardio at home only gets you so far. It's also much easier to maintain a routine once you've actually built that amount of muscle using weights to begin with. Now, I'm not saying people don't have a responsibility to get fit, but the overall environment in prison helps out a ton. Cheers, and glad you're out and still grinding 🍻 💪

Respect to all these guys in the video. I work in a factory, 8 hour shift. In 8 hours I do push-ups, chin up, squats and abs workout. Because I am doing them constantly I have noticed I am ripped as a mofo. I don’t take any supplements or protein shakes. Tbh I eat a lot of rice and lentil (my favourite food) and I’m still ripped. And because I’m working out throughout the 8 hour shift in and off I’m always feeling happy, warm and good about myself. I think our bodies releases these chemicals (only when working out) which makes us feel good. So 8 hours off being happy is way better then 1 hour of working out and being happy for 40 min. I hope it made sense. And please don’t judge the people in this video. Do a little pray instead that these guys find peace in jail. Also be humble that you are not in their situation. Stay positive guys. Love from 🇬🇧

I was one of these guys did all 20s and 30s behind the walls....the reasons we worked out so much is to be ready...fights and riots are daily way of life...you in shape...your cardio strong...you can out last your opponent..you walk away from most scraps....you cant be softee....another of my reasons was stress control...deep breathing...mind got to be strong...you feed your brain knowledge...reading studying....I was into cardio...I wanted to keep swinging when your tired...i stayed away from weights...didnt want the size...i was reps on chin up bar..back arms...push ups other calisthenics...i was cut up...not muscle bound...we buy ensures off commissary...whey protein...eat fish...peanut butter...fuck ramen noodles..thats not it....dudes be so big...they cant swing...usually they WWF types...you dont workout scared of booty bandits...man you can be small and fat....its the HEART....heart real...you dont think like that...its great for stress...we stress from happenings with our loved ones out here..mostly..we have a store in prison..like a 7-11....we order all kinds of goodies...not just soups...soups are a top seller....but theres variety...you got to have the funds...you get anything in prison...

It's like a blessing in disguise really to have less options. Not necessarily prison but anything that declutters your life from all the unnecessary things we think we need to have or be involved in. With lesser options you get to zero in on what really matters and what you can do instead of stressing about things that are not in your control. It's a gift to have less than what you want yet all you need. 🙏🏽

Been to prison...came in at 195...left at 230...pure muscle...only took 2 years...but I dedicated that time getting better mentally physically and just all around. Now the funny story was we had no weights in a Florida d.o.c. department of corrections....plus the food was pure crap..lots of carbs and very little protein...but I never ate crappy because I had no money while incarcerated. The canteen food is glorified gas station food. In the end I feel blessed to do my time and come home safe. Not glorifying the situation. Prison is rather dangerous. Especially in Florida. So stay out fools. Much ❤️ love and peace

He was the coolest dude and friendliest, unless you acted hard and didn’t get out there when he thought you should. Any weight he had on the machine he would add two dudes on the sides, 1 on each side, to stand on the weights for added weight. And he’d knock out 25 reps in a set with that weight. It was ridiculous. Coolest dude I ever met in there and he looked like he ate babies.

And the price of stuff in most prisons is so ridiculous that only a select few even have enough money/goods to get it in the first place. $25 Walmart flip phones go for $1000 in there.. 1 gram of crappy weed goes for $50 minimum. Let’s say for example you didn’t have a father to show you the right way, or you just grew up around a violent neighborhood. You can’t control that. It doesn’t justify what prisoners have done to get there, but could help explain some of it. What’s admirable are the ones willing to rise above and transform themselves.
