Perhaps that is because few options makes choosing easier. There is a story of a fox and a rabbit. The fox and rabbit are being hunted by dogs. The fox always bragged about being more clever than the rabbit. As the dogs approached, the rabbit did what is knows how to do. It ran into a hole and hid quietly. The fox on the other hand with his clever self considered his options. I can do this and I can do that he thought. Never taking action, just feeling impressed at his thinking abilities, until the dogs ate him. Moral of the story, wisdom only benefits when coupled with an appropriate action.

While that is true, in prison you don’t have much responsibility aside from whatever chores you’re assigned. But in real life, we gotta worry about money and work and all. So while that isn’t an excuse not to workout, I think it’s a valid excuse for the argument “we have infinite resources at our fingerprints”. So it’s kinda hard for people to achieve the shape these guys have due to a lack of time and/or resources. Edit: people seem to be taking tbis as though I’m excusing not working out. That’s not my argument. My argument is that we don’t have infinite resources at our fingertips, so we don’t have access to the higher quality products like the rich. But that still isn’t an excuse not to get in shape.

Rather than lazy, I think many humans are stuck in lifestyles that don't allow them to workout like this for 30 min a day, or at least make it much harder, like parents with full time jobs and other obligations or priorities. In prison, as shitty as it is, your lodging is still paid for. Not to mention, prisons having workout yards, whereas people have to pay for a gym membership and take time out of their schedule to drive to said gym if they want to get that bulked up; calisthenics and cardio at home only gets you so far. It's also much easier to maintain a routine once you've actually built that amount of muscle using weights to begin with. Now, I'm not saying people don't have a responsibility to get fit, but the overall environment in prison helps out a ton. Cheers, and glad you're out and still grinding 🍻 💪

Respect to all these guys in the video. I work in a factory, 8 hour shift. In 8 hours I do push-ups, chin up, squats and abs workout. Because I am doing them constantly I have noticed I am ripped as a mofo. I don’t take any supplements or protein shakes. Tbh I eat a lot of rice and lentil (my favourite food) and I’m still ripped. And because I’m working out throughout the 8 hour shift in and off I’m always feeling happy, warm and good about myself. I think our bodies releases these chemicals (only when working out) which makes us feel good. So 8 hours off being happy is way better then 1 hour of working out and being happy for 40 min. I hope it made sense. And please don’t judge the people in this video. Do a little pray instead that these guys find peace in jail. Also be humble that you are not in their situation. He was the coolest dude and friendliest, unless you acted hard and didn’t get out there when he thought you should. These guys are the heart of the American prison system. Guys who were born into bad luck, but work their way out through hard work, determination. Good genetics, hard work, no excuses make iron men. As a volunteer teacher and mentor of prisoners, I can say many of them have a heart of gold.

@רועי שלמ שכטר He means more of a “born from some pretty rough conditions” type of thing. Let’s say for example you didn’t have a father to show you the right way, or you just grew up around a violent neighborhood. You can’t control that. It doesn’t justify what prisoners have done to get there, but could help explain some of it. What’s admirable are the ones willing to rise above and transform themselves. Something in em that’s had enough.

Beastmode workouts right here. I worked out with a old homie of mine I grew up with. Dude did a 6 year stint for armed robbery he got 10 years got cut to 6 paroled on 3. Anyway I did a park workout with him push ups, jumping jacks ECT. Now I workout a lot I stay in the gym. But maaan by the time I was done my body was shot lol. He had me looking like I just did 6 years in the pen lol. He said those are the exercises he did in prison. After that workout I decided to add those in my program. That was back in 1996. Now I'm 47 years old and I still do the workouts my homie showed me back in 96.
