Check Nozzle aperture/orifice size is correct for your machine if you make this upgrade.... (Eg Karcher K7 needs bigger aperature than K2 or K4)... Consult In2detailing or gun supplier for support where needed.

I never saw this comment until AFTER I'd broke my K7. Bought the trigger from HDD no differentiation on their site between any Karcher machines. Fixed the machine not knowing the cause, thought it was just old age and did it again. The trigger gun itself is OK but the nozzle set provided are not a big enough diameter hole.
@ForensicDetailing3 жыл бұрын
@@StephenT71 you need a bigger hole for the K7 steve, but it will just pulse if you have the smaller hole. you can buy bigger orrafice nozzle on ebay for like a quid or something.

Quick tip: Whenever you switch out the nozzles on a quick connect gun, point it at the ground and give the trigger a few pulls. This will ensure that the nozzle is fully seated and won't shoot off into the car. I wish someone had told me this years ago. Windshields aren't cheap.
@iDropPhats4 жыл бұрын
100% haha I learned this the hard way, was detailing with a mobile service on a farm, gave the trigger a quick pull and blew the tip 200 yards out into a field. The tip was never seen again.

Great tip. I was thinking just that as I watched a video of a guy demonstrating similar quick release nozzles and the nozzle flew out on the car. But just wondering isn't it enough to just pull the nozzle a few times to make sure it doesn't come off? Also what about the snow foam Lance technically same rule applies to that, but I'm assuming just a pull test on the Lance should be ok?

Great review - thanks. I had the same thing with hand fatigue. I have 3 cars to wash and by car 3 my right hand was in agony!! I have a K4 and the part on the back where the pressure hose connects is perfect for hanging the trigger/gun on. The trigger lock on my Suttner 2300 works perfect and stops you firing the gun - must be a design fault on this one. One thing I found is that using the short trigger you’re closer to the car and rinsing etc is more accurate and feels quicker to get the job done. Arch cleaning and rinsing wheels etc is much easier and more accurate.

an advantage of the gun is that it's smaller so you can get in places, a disadvantage of the gun is it's smaller so you can't reach places - love your reviews ;) 'quick release' is a bit of a gimmick, Karcher push twist is just as quick so I see it as only an upgrade if you want to use a sexy foam lance

I use a 2L foam lance I got off eBay from China and came with the quick release plug already fitted and works well with my k4 it cost £13. Hello I have a question 1. Do you think buying expensive foamlance is necessary? 2. Foamlance from China uses more foamwash than expensive foamlance? 3. If thick foam is required, pressure washer and gpm are required. How much is the minimum?
@ForensicDetailing4 жыл бұрын
1) yes mate totally 2) not necessrily the flow rate of product to water can be altered with a nozzle but also orrafice size plays a part 3) no set answer for this all foams are different concentrations for example, and orrafice size of the lance plays a part. GPM (which is flow rate) and also pressure play a part. but yes higher GPM and pressure is a factor but you also want to buy a lance thats suitable for your pressure washer.. say you have a gas powered high pressure high GPM washer and stuck a lance for a tiny electric pressure washer on it you might back the gas powered pressure washer up to much (which is a bad thing to do). consult whoever you buy the lance off of, to make sure its suitable for your machine.

Oh, I’m a bit disappointed that I saw this video just now. I have a Karcher K4 of some sort and I bought a foam cannon. I then paid about £10 for the adaptor from Karcher to quick release. And then bought the nozzles from ebay for a few quid. I hate that I can’t control the pressure for the foam cannon and by default is “medium” usually. Sometimes is on “hard” which is what I would like.

Following on from this, I’ve scrolled through the comments and can’t see any similar issues to what I’m having. I find that when using the trigger gun, the swivel is locked solid by the water pressure on my K5. If you release the trigger you can just about move it but it’s really quite stiff to move. With the pressure removed, it swivels smoothly again. I was wondering if anyone you or any of your followers had experienced the same, Jon? And if the newer “deluxe” version has remedied this issue?

I've noticed a LOT of pro KZbin detailers use these and they do seem to provide a very high volume water curtain. It takes me a lot longer to rinse my car although that could be because I don't have a Karcher pressure washer. I've never seen a K4/5/7 in action in real life but I suspect mine is quite weedy by comparison. It was cheap though but has performed admirably so far for the money. Got it from Lidl! I only use it on my own cars and I'm just not sure it's worth laying out £500 or more just for weekend car cleaning use. I do sometimes think people jet wash their cars with too much pressure too, I mean how much pressure do you need? And when I see detailers who start off BEFORE they snowfoam by saying 'just rinse of any loose dirt and muck before you snowfoam' and then they proceed to hit the paintwork with a full power pressure washer 5 inches from the surface I just cringe. You may as well sandblast your paintwork! The dirt does not magically lift itself off the paint, you are literally forcing it across the surface with God knows how many lbs of pressure. It makes a mockery of all the 'be gentle, don't use your microfibre with pressure, avoid contact washing, change your microfibre every 3.5 seconds' etc etc. Don't pressure wash a dirty dry car, you may as well just wipe a rag across it!

You’re possibly about 3 months too late for me Jon. Upgraded from a K4 which I didn’t really have an issue with but wanted a short gun and a longer hose, so at least £800 later and I have invested in a Kranzle K10 and Obsessed Garage UK package with a PF22. Funny thing is I’ve not used the short gun but the longer better quality hose has been awesome and probably the swivel connection.

Just got a similar one with a 1/4" quick connect on both ends and a replacement 10m flexible rubber hose for my C120 Nilfisk, replacing the 6m hard plastic hose and the long lance in 1 and making cleaning the car a way easier prospect. Cost a bit more owing to the hose too, but Nilfisk don't make an M22 adaptor and the third party ones regularly suffer blowouts as they're not secure enough.

I have a cheap gun and the locking does exactly that. I just put the white and green nozzle in my back pocket. One word of warning, make sure the quick release is in correct. Best to aim away from the car, my Kranzle has some serious power. I like the swivel idea but may be a bit bulky for my set up. Cost of my gun about £10.00 with the 5 nozzles. Owned for 2 years no issues what so ever. The standard lance is a right lump, i love the smaller gun. Awesome for getting into the wheel arches also. Awesome review John as always.

If only they had gone for a gun with an M22 fitting directly into a Karcher quick release. The number of adapters on the hose side put me off so I put my own package together.

I have the K1700 cube model and I'm not sure which gun/hose to pickup as a replacement? I am already tired of the rinky dink plastic gun, and the kinky stiff hose.

I dont know. but if I had to guess go with the K4 gun package. If your machine pulses with the white/green/yellow nossles that come with the package you can buy bigger orrafice ones on ebay for a quid or something.. try 40 hole size if you get pulsing issues. I used 40 on my K7, we discovered it pulsed with the K4 sizes.

@@ForensicDetailing Thanks mate, I was actually getting pulsing that was making me nervous yesterday, I'm gonna pick up some of the larger orifices for sure

I've been waiting for something like this, so glad you've done a in depth review. I also have a k7 and would benefit greatly with a setup just like yours. I'm interested to know where you got the snow foam canister from though. I have the karcher one, and it's not the best. Thanks in advance. Ben.

Very tempted but no Nilfisk ones available :(. Also, your "Bargain £1 Mini Inpection Torches" Amazon URL is out of date - any recent recommendations?

Thank you for another fabulous review. Needless to say, I’ve ordered one. I just need more gigs to pay for all this stuff I keep ordering 😂😂😂
