I had a day trip coming up yesterday and saw your video about the High Line. I expected it to be an OK way to kill time before the play we were seeing. My wife and I were blown away by how beautiful and accessible and popular it was and how easy it was go 6-10 blocks without crossing any streets. It made our day and I've been raving about it to everyone I know since then. It was not at all what we were expecting to find in NYC. Great video, even 3 years later.

How long did it take to walk the whole thing? I may have missed it in the video. I’m headed there on Friday and would love to do this time permitting!
@KingBaconMonger Жыл бұрын
@@The_Fight_Game Sorry, probably too late, but I believe it's 30 minutes to walk the whole High Line one direction at an average pace. The amazing thing about it is that you can walk in tourist mode (not paying much attention to traffic or figuring out complicated directions) from the train station to the High Line to Hudson Yards.... all over the place.

I discovered the High Line when I ran across a book by photographer Joel Sternfeld, who helped document its abandoned state and supplied the photographs that were used to publicize the effort to make it what it is today. Great video, very informative! I liked the part about the westside cowboys, never heard of it. Funny story from one of the times I went there, I missread the sign for taglialatella galleries, I read it like tagliatella, I must’ve been hungry 😄 There’s a secret gem in the area I find really interesting. If you go south from 14th street, just past where the video projection is happening and look toward the Hudson you will see a rusty metal arch, it’s pier 54, the planned destination of the titanic. You can see it in the video around the 1 minute mark 🙂
