8:50 You were just visiting the Taman Sari complex. And, you were passing the tunnel complex under the pond lake. Unfortunately the Government of Yogyakarta cannot reclaim the complex. The crowded housings there are actually not belonging to the complex. There was a huge garden and a pond lake, about 5 hectares wide surrounding a palace island. Below the pond lake, there were tunnel complexes with an underground mosque. Since the big earthquake in 1869, the Taman Sari complex has become a refugee camp. Since then people keep staying and occupying the complex. The Sultan also abandoned the Taman Sari complex since the earthquake destroyed the vital water supply that made it unrecoverable. If all of the complexes can be reclaimed and reconstructed, then you will see a beautiful Water Castle complex with a pool and interconnected ponds, artificial lakes and a floating castle.

I think that lady gave you Beras Kencur. Beras kencur is a kind of jamoo, a beverage made of rice and aromatic ginger. Kencur is different with ginger, actually, as ginger is called jahe. People drink that to relieve from fatigue, and to get refreshed.
