I don't know when I first saw this as it's 8 years old as of now 10 17 2023 but it makes much more sense now. Anton is one of the all time greats on YT ! I rewatch all of these and they make more sense every time because my knowledge is waking up.

Your tutorials are really the best. And here is the reason why. I started windsurfing this summer and I am really good at it: I went from big learning board to 140L normal board and from small 4m to 6.5m sail in only 10 hours of exercises! Guys who started with me couldn't achieve such results even after 30 hours of training. But even though I understand wind/sail interaction really good, I always was really confused about how kite works... But after watching your videos it became clear! Thanks!:) Please keep filming videos at the same level, your explanations are gold!

One of the best videos out there. Keep em coming Anton! Only been riding for 20 sessions but got the down loop transitions etc dialed in. Started to jump in high winds and is eager to try out some surface slides/tricks with loops. Thanks a lot!
@antonchernyshov87599 жыл бұрын
David Johansson Thanks! I have some plans of an episode dedicated to surface tricks. They are a bit more tricky then they seem to be, though using a kiteloop while doing them is quite easy. Having good tension in your lines to provide enough hang time is the biggest trick.

Anton Chernyshov Sounds very good Anton! I managed to do a backroll with kite loop unintentionally when I tried the backroll. And I was baffled. So next turn I went for it and stomped it, and then quite a few crashes also. But it's getting there!

Great videos! One of the best there is online! Thanks for the info on different types of kites. It is very important to know if you can do the same tricks with different equipment and gear. Expecting more cool stuff from you! Thanks! Спасибо!!! Очень техничные видосы и как замечено никто не учит входить в петлю и выходить из нее. Это должно быть как с самолетом - входить в штопор и выходить из него.

Good work Anton, great video. Surface down loops is a great idea, but also body dragging is a good way to practice the kite loop initially.
@antonchernyshov87598 жыл бұрын
+Merik T Thanks! Well, When I was teaching guys on the water, I also tried bodydragging with a loop several times as an exercise. BUT failed) With my North Rebel I was always getting such a hard pull, sliding like a stone over the water! That was a hardcore, my student said "OK, I've got it. Not for me." And was even about to quit)))

Hi Anton, loved the confidence of the step by step approach. Please give me a hint on what kite I should use for tricks as my North Rebel seems to powerfull and not so fast in turns when I try to loop it. Thanks and congrats.
@antonchernyshov87598 жыл бұрын
+Miguel Neves Hi! Sorry for answering late. Well, you can do everything described in this video with your North Rebel. I had the same kite, when I was learning to do all that stuff. Had a chance to test North Evo recently and I found it really good for powered loops, lots of fun. So, if you want an idea of a kite to try you first powered loops, Evo sounds good. For heli loops without power Rebel will also work well. BR, Anton.

@antonchernyshov87598 жыл бұрын
vanart Thanks! Well, my school is just me, man) You can find me giving lessons on Philippine islands in winter, in Sri Lanka in summer, at Egypt (sometimes) in autumn. Or at home, in Russia) or you can give me a mail for a bit of "remote lessons", it also works nice. Especially if you have a video of you doing something on the water you want to improve. Detailed analyze is possible then . Feel free to send me a mail.
@pablom6958 жыл бұрын
Awesome video, Anton. Great explanation for beginners with a very good video production. Just one thing I missed is that you do not mention the effect of pullling the bar has on the loop, you just focus on the bar turning. Is the sheeting in/out not as important as the geltle/agressive bar turning?
@antonchernyshov87597 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Pablo! You're right, sheeting the bar in or out is not the keypoint! Just hold in the way to feel normal tension of the bar...Like 3/4 of full sheet-in travel, I guess.
@sebas06084592 жыл бұрын
my first surface kiteloop unfortunately crashed (nothing serious), because i did not understand this point. i thought that "less" power by sheeting out then steering was necessary. this caused the kite to have too high radius, and thus too much power. @anton, that would be the only thing i would try to add in the video, for the rest amazing!!
@makanfouladi87858 жыл бұрын
Thanks;Awesome tutorial video!Today I did exactly what was said and shown in the video and it all worked for me without fear. Have you any videos or tips for back loop riding toe side? I ride toe side but whatever I do I can't pop out of the water to do my back loop.
@antonchernyshov87598 жыл бұрын
+Makan Fouladi Hi! What do you mean, a backroll while riding toe side? Well, yeah I tried to film a bit on this topic couple of weeks ago. Not enough for the real tutorial. Just some random footages. Well, it's not that complicated. Keeping your lines well tentioned, distributing your weight right (so the board's edge works for 100%) and pushing away from the kite just a bit will provide you with height, neccesary for a backroll. Just hard to say, what you are missing, without watching you riding. Put some small video online, if possible!
@makanfouladi8 жыл бұрын
+Anton Chernyshov Thanks for you reply,that's correct I meant a backroll while riding toe side; I'll try to do your tips next time and see how I go.In general every time I try to push-off the power of the kite doesn't let me to push off and holds me in the toe side position;as you mentioned above it could be not having enough tension in the line and not edging right.I'll try to capture some video as well.

Great video! Maybe the best I've seen so far! Looking forward to your next vids as Im having problems with jumping high and to much horizontal motion. Is the North Evo suitable for learning kiteloops? I'm thinking of changing my material. Thanks! Keep it up!
@antonchernyshov87598 жыл бұрын
MrTheblackbaron Yeah, lots of guys have that promblem with high, stable, upwind jump with a smooth hanging. I think the next Episode is gonna be dedicated to that topic, not the easiest one, by the way! That's a really basic skill, but still mysterious for many riders. I'm planning to introduce you to my specific approach on solving that problem)
@antonchernyshov87598 жыл бұрын
MrTheblackbaron Well, I didn't like Evo much, it was so hard to put to the edge of the wind window for a nice big air. Though it was an old model. May be they have improved it now. Evo is positioned as a half-freeride half-wakestyle kite and....that Evo I've tried was non of these 2 kinds as a result) Didn't have a chance to try a kiteloop on that one. Vegas is ways better for loops - 100%)

@Ivan-yo4hy9 жыл бұрын
Why this isn't in kite lessons? :\ Awesome explaining and beautiful footage, especially camera angles!
@antonchernyshov87599 жыл бұрын
Ivan Granić Thanks, man! You'll be really surprised how many important things are missing in most of the kite lessons, when we'll get down to basic jumping techniques in one of the next episodes! Hope right after Kiteloop ep. II. We'll find out what we've been taught wrong form the beginning, why most of the kiters fail to perform nice and smooth tricks, struggle to jump high and so on. And how to fix it. If they want to)
@Ivan-yo4hy9 жыл бұрын
Anton Chernyshov Happened to me exactly like u said. Was in the field with 8 meter on probably 17-18 kts, engaged loop, felt the gust coming and released the bar in the middle of the loop. Kite fallen down (probably stall) right in the power zone. Was licking the grass about 40-50 meters. I am sure if i finished loop, pull would end after 1 sec, especially when i did it from 11-11:30. Was lucky wind was kinda low :\ If u taking suggestions, pls add explanation of power (or behavior) during the loop with different kites. I read somewhere that it's not the same power in the loop with bows (rotating more around center of the kite) and hybrids or c's (more rotation around wingtip). Can't wait for E#2 !
@antonchernyshov87599 жыл бұрын
Ivan Granić Hey, that kind of crash is the reason why so much of people are affraid to go futher with the loops. Such a pity. They start to think that kiteloop is a question of courage they do not have. This approach is completely wrong. After having that "bar-release-crash" they should just step back to surface loops, practicing it again and again to bring that feeling of "safe- aggressive- steering" deep inside of their mind. For sure, I will include in Ep II some info about how do different kinds of kites behave while looping. Thanks for suggestion. But I can guarantee that every kind of modern kite, any size, is able to perform a low powered heli-type kiteloop if you follow basic rules. Ep II is on the way) But don't be in a hurry. I will repeat myself again: Ep I is a thing to practice a lot, if you don't feel "brave" enough to try the jumping kiteloop again! Just spend some time on it. You will feel the profit)

But just in case, I always tried to contact the owner and ask, if it's ok, if there was a way to find them. when do you do the downloop when you are jumping @ what hight?
@antonchernyshov87599 жыл бұрын
ipodopi When you do a downloop while jump, height does not matter. It's more important to pull the bar AFTER you passed the highest point of the jump, on the way down, before landing. It can be 5 meters or half meter. Depending on how high was your jump. Let's say "as late is possible" - is the best way. There's a detailed explanation in Episode II, why you have to do it that way. Just wait a bit) Thanks)
