The brake system in these wear out within 9 months. I took apart my stand to find the problem, and I did. It's actually a very simple system. Ultimate, Please go back to the older materials made in these stands. These use to be a quality product.

Nice review, I just received one sp-100b from Amazon, another one on the way. The one I received looked solid and great. I installed one I received on my JBL subwoofer, looked great and worked great with light and heavier tops. I unscrewed the pole pushed down the pole , tightened the butterfly nut and the pole keeps going up even if hand tightened. Makes no sense. Any suggestions ?

The hilt quality is a big issue here. I wouldn’t recommend.
