The umpires need to remember that we aren't there to watch them. There should be a rule that one or both of the General Managers should be able to throw an umpire out of the game if there is a good reason. And then it has to be reviewed. Umpires need to be held accountable for their poor decisions.

I can agree somewhat with this. But I don’t think he hit the batter. He got one like 8 inches behind him and the second was like 6 inches off his body, but the jersey hangs off pretty far which makes it look like a HBP. “If I were the ump” (famous last words before I get assaulted lmao), unless there were warnings before the game to both teams which means instant ejections, I would’ve given a warning and asked his catcher to talk to him. Playing JV in 9th grade I remember the ump called infield fly rule in effect. For those who don’t know it means the batter is automatically out if he hits a popfly that stays in the end field when runners are on base. This prevents the fielder from intentionally letting it drop to get a double or triple play. It basically removes the force out. Anyways, the batter hits a pop up a mile in the air that our second baseman loses in the sun and drops between him and the pitcher mound and no out was called and now bases are loaded. Our coach comes out to ask what the hell and the field umpire knowing he’s wrong for flaking still sticks to his guns and says “well it wasn’t high enough”. A huge argument and ejection ensued. Case in point, if a local small time ump getting paid 50 dollars to officiate a game isn’t gonna admit he’s wrong, these “professional” ego-driven assholes certainty aren’t
