You didn’t buy it from the Hermes store so it IS second hand. I suggest you ask Hermes if you disagree. Nothing wrong with buying second hand but to say it’s new when it’s not given someone else has handled it or may have used it (but were careful so there’s no sign of use) is just misleading to your viewers. Hermes bags are made that way. An authentic bag should fold easily. It's not overly structured.

You are saying that “all authentic Hermès bags fold easily “, that is incorrect. Also, you can find plenty of unboxing videos on KZbin, and you will notice that the bags don’t look like Lydia’s. I've never heard of a consignment store, I actually had to Google the term 😅 interested to know the process if the bag is new but not from a Hermes store. It’s not new as you didn’t buy it from Hermes. The correct term is (if it’s not been used) Never Worn pre loved. New means you’re the first owner which you’re clearly not .

Congratulations Lydia with your first Hermès bag! As an owner of more then 20 Kelly/Birkin bags you should get an insert from 7RP ASAP because the bag isn’t in fantastic shape at the front and the side on the left. It’s already sagging and it’s so important to keep the structure of the bag. I only have one problem and it’s not with you but with all the influencers buying Birkin and Kelly’s at the moment. They all get them from consignment stores or personal shoppers and make it look so easy. As an Hermès client and lover for many years you never forget the first time you get a bag offered in store, it’s such an experience and I will cherish that bag forever and through the years I have established a fantastic relationship with all of my SA’s so I can have any Hermès bag I want. Getting a Birkin or a Kelly in store is an accomplishment and that’s getting lost nowadays. Since July 2020, Hermès is putting on their receipts when you buy a Birkin or a Kelly that it can’t be sold second hand and there’s a reason for it. First I found it strange when I read it on my receipt but now I totally get it. Hermès is trying to protect their exclusiveness and their heritage.

I have a law degree and a degree in finance, I set goals for myself and whenever I reach that goal my reward is a Kelly or Birkin. I don’t have a problem with someone buying an Hermès from a consignment store but I do have a problem with influencers buying these beautiful pieces like they are fast fashion without even realizing what it means do buy a Birkin or a Kelly. Everytime I buy one it’s still very special to me.

Alysia, I saw that bag when Sellier posted it on their instastories and it wasn't that much . Their resale prices are really reasonable compared to everyone else. In fact they posted one time on their stories to not contact them to resell Hermes bags if they are asking exorbitant prices. They said go elsewhere (Ebay)because they want to resell at fair prices.

She loves her cat and her dog, but I doubt she loves those animals that are just used for the materials of her bags and shoes. So, yes, some people are (nicely) trying to educate other people and make them aware of the animal cruelty that is a huge part of a lot of the fashion world (nowadays). In my opinion there is nothing wrong with that. We can of course agree to disagree. :)

@@foreverstylish6478 When people are passionate about something, sometimes discussions/arguments can get heated and comments may not be written in the most diplomatic way. I think some people are just done with trying to be diplomatic and nice when it comes to important topics such as this. At one point you just have to stop sugar coating things - sometimes that is the only way to make people understand. That being said, I did mostly see informative comments but that's probably subjective. Why now? Who knows - I guess veganism has become much more popular and with that the awareness of animal cruelty has risen as well.

Hmmm... if I'd spend that much money on a bag I'd make sure it stands out when I wear it, not just blends into a sea of neutrals. Seems so plain to me. Also, you've got to love how these influencers get these vouchers and freebies. ''I tagged them on a post'' and they always seem ''surprised'' when companies give in to the begging. It's so obvious.
