John, now that you have use your r5 for awhile when looking at newer videos you posted. Could you please address a video to expo simulation as being enabled and what happens when you attache a flash/trigger. I use Godox strobes and flashes. Bottom line nothing works together because of blackout. Help show me a way to use even if it requires extra steps to do, ie turn off flash - expose for ambient, turn flash on and pray... Do you get what I am asking. I will help that video get plenty of views from tons of friends.
@JohnGress4 жыл бұрын
I think the two general steps you want to take when using flash is to take the shutter mode off of electronic and then disable exposure simulation. Both should be in the red, shoot, menu. Did that solve your problem?

@@JohnGress I think it's a bit of both, but I think the dominant issue is that my pinky is completely off the grip and about 1/3 of my palm is sort of balling up under the grip as a result. I'm probably going to give the battery grip a try, but I expect it to add new problems - larger backpack, more awkward hanging from a strap clip, etc. I'm getting into day backpacking and wildlife shooting.

That vertical grip does look like it is a well-designed grip especially for its purpose of shooting vertically as far as using a big lens , what you have there is tiny compared to what me as a bird photographer or any other wildlife photographer use's , I take it you have never used an 600 F4.0 or an 800 f 5.6 now those are big lenses these are what Wildlife Photographers like my self use to do our work .

Hi, Does this grip work on the canon r50?
@KaiTiura4 жыл бұрын
Yes, just like my ESO R grip, there is a place for the door. Good thinking on Canon's part to keep the Cripple Hammer away from this item.😆 (Editing would have made the video shorter, reading the instructions with the same focus on editing would have been disastrous...😂) This *was* interesting, but I look forward to the test with two batteries (the grip doesn't work with just one, does it? And, since you bought the grip, but not a second battery, I feel much better about having bought the camera without thinking to get a CFExpress card reader at the same time, when they were everywhere!) The grip seems to also be on backorder everywhere... I could swear I saw that the grip had a special connection advancement... can't remember what, and not seeing it anywhere at the moment. Better read that manual after all.
@JohnGress4 жыл бұрын
It works fine with one battery. I didn’t buy a second one of the new batteries because I figured for now I would use my old batteries.
