Prowl love the vid man glad we have somone on bedrock looking out for us One thing I noticed is on the lower iron farm zombies could get the villagers from the outside in the corners so maybe block them off for safety

Made this farm. Works like a charm. (Although I only did the first half, I still don't have enough resources for the top half.) its still giving me a decent amount of iron though. I am near a guardian farm(I made my iron farm on the ocean), so I added some fishermen to sell the extra cod i get from that farm and im getting a decent amount of emeralds now. yay. Just built the bottom half on my realm and works great with no issues! I only built half because it was kind of hard for me to hide the upper half and still make my area look nice but even with just half the rates are awesome

I always start an iron farm in a village. I make a trading hall in the village. Every time. New base, in current world, has a large "village". I made a trading hall 5 stories with one profession each, except the cartographers, have two on the Mason floor. This caused Iron golems to spawn in a specific area. Not far from the original bell. That's where I made the Golem collector.

Just built an iron farm a week or so ago, but it absolutely seems time for an upgrade already. Thanks for the tutorial! 26:00 On discount methods, do zombie villagers spawning nearby still apply the discount from curing another villager (as per method 2 of the list)? Used to work well with a zombie spawner in the middle of a trading hall, but had similar success building a general hostile mob farm surrounding the hall for discounts. Idk if they've patched that interaction yet though, been a couple years since i've tried.

Good. You have a fourth discount. Killing a zombie villager in the area. You don't have to kill it yourself. You can stack each of the discounts but only one time. Now supposedly you can make the 2nd village then move them to the 1st village in order to use the golem spawn area for both villages.

Having more than 2 golems spawning on a single farm actually slows down the farm, and you don't need water under the villagers anymore, I recommend building it with the beds above the spawning platform ans the trading hall above the beds, use glass for the floor. I average 7 stacks of iron an hour.

Yeah, i made a trading hall in one long hallway with 100 villagers so i could have ALL THE TRADES, and decided to just shove in an iron farm above it cuz it was spawning golems faster than i could kill them when i was trying to spawn proof the floor in the middle after i realised that i had forgot to do that. Works well, i get 3-4 golems every 15-20 seconds, this definitely seems more reliable for doing it on purpose instead of on accident like i did

im assuming the bottom one can also dip underground to as long you spawn proof caves with glass or half slabs since kinda feel it would be nice to afk on the ground where my base is at and have a item elevator going up to the surface

I don't know why bit it not working for me. I've only done the bottom half, I'm over 100 blocks qwqay from NY other bed or Profesion block. I have 30 beds, villagers, and job blocks yet no iron golem spawn at all. Cats are spawning but no iron golems

Question, ive built this farm, just 1 layer, if I already have it working well, most of my villagers are master level, will it mess up the farm if I start converting them for cheaper prices? I have an older version of this farm you made in a video where the only difference is I have 1 villager above the rest at bed level.

I built the farm fully both layers and i’m only getting 1-2 golems every few minutes combined i’ve removed all the beds and work stations and replaced them but still no luck. anyone know what i could do?

An important note if you zombify and then cure your villagers after they are linked to the work station: They will not always link back to the same work station after being cured. You will need to basically free them all from their spaces and then let them find the new work station that they are linked to, otherwise they will not refill their trades.

That only happens if you zombify 2 o more. It won't happen if you just cure 1 at a time

If they can't reach their job block after they've been traded with to lock in their trades they'll do the same thing they do with beds and just unlink and relink to a different block until they link to one they CAN reach, it'll just take a WHILE if you have a lot of villagers, (took 9 hours for my 100 villager trading hall to all relink on their own)

If you tame 5 cats and put them around the villager trading area, you can keep cats from spawning.

I was about to build a small iron farm but might as well go big. I’m still early game but I have enough cobble and sand (for the glass) to get this done. I thought about making both layers but only “activating” the bottom layer now. then using the top to add the different biome librarians(once they are mastered and possibly zombiefied in a camber in the nether.) Then I can have a portal above and out of spawning radius to help drop the cured librarians in and access the villagers trading on top. Any thoughts?

Just a little tip make sure you breed all the villagers in the biome you want them from. If you bring 2 from one biome and take them to another biome the babies will be from the biome they are bred in. Also if you get there before the villager trading mechanics change which could be some time, the librarian Villagers will still be able to have all enchanted books. If that's what you where meaning that is.

I have a trading hall (not part of an iron farm like yours) and ever so often 3 or 4 villagers would unlink from their profession Blocks and link to another’s right next to them and everytime I have to vacate that section and reintroduce them 1 by1

For me, I had to go one block higher from the beds. As in instead of placing the glass right above the bed, I had to skip a block and then place due to villagers not linking properly. Otherwise seems like it is working good

So I have an iron farm but when I built it there was no mention of the radius of iron gollum spawns. The video made a smaller spawning platform, would it be more beneficial to the farm if I extended the spawning area above the villagers?

If there isn't iron golems spawning outside of your farm then I would say it's fine. But if u have enough villagers to spawn several golems at a time then I would say expand it because there might be a chance that there isn't enough spawnable blocks for more than one golem to spawn at a time.

Isn't a job/profession block can also be a POI or the village center where the golem could spawn? So putting them in the center of the spawning platform is a much better idea. Also iron golem needs 2x4x2 to spawn so extending the platform 1 block in each direction and using a hopper minecart under the center to put a solid/magma block instead of a campfire to cover all spawning spots possible.

On the top iron farm. I dont think you mentioned why the villagers are above the beds and not below the spawning platform. Will that mess with the lower farm if you add the villager floor below the spawning platform on the top farm?

As long as you space the top and bottom beds more than 76 blocks apart, doesn't matter

Yes you can! You can run 8 farms without any linking required. May be laggy for some devices with 240 villagers loaded at once

I assume you mean as a floor instead of the lava. The damage would be painfully slow. Remember while the golom cap is filled, others can't spawn. You can probably get better rates camping a village with a good bow if you're going that route friend.

Yes, but it's pointless, like I mentioned in the video, nothing will increase the speed in which they spawn. You'll very rarely see 4 alive at a time, and it's almost impossible to see 5 alive at a time. They die faster than they spawn in. 30 is the optimal number for golem spawning, adding any more than that would only be for the villager trading benefit.

If a golem is dropped more than 6 blocks from the spawning location will it reset the spawning rule and increase the spawn? I know on an old world I had I dropped the golems by about 8 blocks from the spawn floor and it seemed like I had more golems spawning than I should have. My idea is to do something like this farm but drop them down a 3x3 hole (both farms) into a quick kill chamber (lava and magma block floor) that is just below the trading hall area, yes this will increase the footprint of the farm but if the theory holds true it should spawn more golems. I kind of wish the iron farm I have on my Java world would work as it is a tiny footprint that produces a ton of iron, maybe one day the rules will change to those like in Java.

Yea. I'm not sure what the upper limit is(I have 6 or 7 golems in my librarian hall), but the increased iron rate isn't much at those sizes. Pretty sure Prowl showed the numbers on that in one of his guide videos.

Yes. For rates purposes, you get like a 1% increase in iron from 40 vs 30

​@@the_random_french On average a golem is spawned every 35 seconds, therefore if you're transporting and killing golems in around that time there's very little increase in rates.. with 20 villagers you have 70 seconds on average to kill the golems so it's only 5% increase in rates going from 20 to 30 villagers. And as Prowl says from 30 to 40 villagers is only a 1% increase.

Depends... with a server you can run higher render distance, have less problems with larger world sizes, set multiple admins, get better performance if youre doing things that could be very laggy, or even run higher sim distance if you want
