I am on my 4th cancer diagnosis in almost 11 years and stumbled upon your channel just when I needed it. I have been told I have zero to 5 years to live and that my cancer is incurable as it is metastatic colon cancer, which I have had for almost 9 years. I am running a lot and hiking in the rugged Maine mountains, feeling well in spite of the cancer and trying to grasp what this means. Thank you for the inspiration to keep pushing.

As a fellow cancer survivor, you are an inspiration! I went through cancer at age 19 and 18 months later I ran a full marathon. I then found CrossFit and when I started I couldn’t do a single push up due to being so weak from chemo. I’m 22 now and I can do workouts like Murph and run the occasional half marathon without training. Rooting for you during Leadville!! Keep it up!

Oh wow. You truly are an inspiration and a warrior. Your attitude and mindset are standing ovation worthy. The first video i saw of yours was the winning your first ultra video, and i was a bit harsh on what i considered over emphasis on prettiness and femininity, instead of mental/ physical accomplishments. But you are in fact the whole package, and i can't wait to read your book. I have built a life i love, despite a lot of health/ financial adversity. I now have a rare condition where a spike in blood pressure can/ will give me a heart attack. They've barely studied it, and mostly in men, though it's mainly a female issue. Go figure. The only things they can tell me are to stay healthy, control my BP as best as possible, and this will almost definitely kill me early. I'm finally truly embracing life, and the fruits of all of my hard work, for however long i can, taking on challenges and creating amazing memories. Good luck this weekend, I'll be cheering you on on the live stream!

Thanks for sharing your story! You are an inspiration. I have always been into fitness. I lift weights but have always hated running. I have ran consistently for 1.5 years and I still get so frustrated because I am terrible at it. It’s like I am missing some key element. I did an ocr and did pretty well considering I had never ran a trail before or did anything like it however the trail running was my weakness. Hopefully this is the year I become a decent runner.
@Kelly_Ben
@Kelly_Ben 2 күн бұрын
If I could make a recommendation, it's to try EVERYTHING. So many of us get stuck in the road 5k -> 10k -> half marathon rut, thinking that's what we're "supposed" to do as runners. Try road, trails, paths. Long, short, relays and obstacles. You mentioned you did an ocr, but didn't say if you ENJOYED it. You will always do better at things you enjoy. I did the road 5k thing for years, before realizing trail 50ks was my happy place! I never thought I could do a marathon, much less an ultra, and never WOULD have known if I hadn't tried. Find your place in running, and everything will fall in place. Best wishes!
@sheenaj3951
@sheenaj3951 2 күн бұрын
@@Kelly_Benthank you soooo much. I did love the OCR and it’s my motivation for improving my running. I am finding that I really enjoy trail runs - more to look at and think about and I feel like it’s more “okay” to go slower because of the constant change in terrain. I sure hope I come to love longer distances. I think I am still in the trial and error stage though. Your encouragement is appreciated ❤

You can have the richest spirit, in the world. However, when you can’t afford to fix your car. While the rent is overdue. That spirit starts to lose its richness. When you grow up comfortable. You say stuff like this. When your mom is crying, because she can’t afford a birthday cake for you. Or instead of birthday presents. You get your cousins old clothes, for school. You don’t think of stuff like this. Because you’re not worried about “just existing” or “living.” You’re worried about surviving. This is how it is, in poor communities across this country.
