You are becoming my best friend 😆 the context of every video I've watched so far is both educational and helpful on a personal level. I wish there were more professionals like you on youtube. Thank you for the great context

Since when is any psychology professional as real, intelligent, sane and thoughtful and understanding!? Ive been traumatized by my exoeriences with psych professionals. I wish i could erase those memories even more than life traumatic memories.

exactly! also people with chronic illness have been almost all traumatised by doctors not taking them seriously and often doing misdiagnosis for years, and also often telling their physical pain is emotional related- all of these r traumatising. for me my trauma goes back to doctors.

Thank you so much for making these videos. I wish I had come upon them earlier. Panic attacks can leave you traumatized. It all makes sense now.

yes, this was my observation, too, that strange behaviours are linked to a very emotional moment of the past.

My brother was „diagnosed“ with paranoid schizophrenia (I believe maybe it‘s cptsd) and since moving out from home with this realization for me has me spiraling in flight/fight/freeze and emotional flashbacks.

Yes but any tiny (or what we might call tiny) event can be classed as trauma to some people. It's not up to us to define what is acceptable to be called trauma or not. Trauma is each individuals perception of an event.

yes, Mark uses the word significant, which is already a evaluation. To tell to someone, you were traumatized by an insignificant event, it is not so nice.

Can i get help too please ... I have always had issues growing up ! Falling out with friends from primary school being aggressive always feeling not good enough and that no one likes me . I just turned 40 and I have always been over protected of my kids im always thinking something bad is going to happen to them .. I turned to drugs at the age of 14 and then abused heavier drugs up until I had my twins of the age of 21 when I fell pregnant to my twins . I adore my kids I give them everything but now they are 18 I feel like I have nothing. I struggle with relationships or even a guy that I hook up with that doesn't reply to my messages after we have a friendship. I bottle everything up and then I explode. I feel like everyone thinks I'm a werido.. My sister who is 3 years older then me and my perants kept from me putting away a pedaphile . My perants never asked me if anything happened to me on this same camping trip . When reaching out to my older sister saying I think I have flash backs she told me to stop being a drama queen and pretty much fk off .. I have brought it up twice to my mum but always in a aggressive way and I have to walk away because I'm so upset they never asked me .. I have had so much child hood upsets and drug abuse. My mum gave me my preschool art 1 month ago its all pretty gardens ect and then it gets dark. I use black paints ect .. Am I CRAZY like my family think I am im so sensitive more sensitive then most people I know .... Help I have been suicidal again lately

It sounds like you've had and are still having a difficult time. Some areas in the UK offer self referral to NHS funded counselling services and other types of therapies too. Just ask your GP about it or check your GP's website if you still need support. I've presume you're in the UK based on your use of the term 'primary school'. Best wishes to you.

With experience one doesn’t need to look for trauma - it’s obvious - though always concealed behind a facade of normality which must be unpeeled very carefully

Can you help me? I have done much therapy and have been relating to your first two clients cases. I too am hopeless and it's mentally dehabiliting. It only occurs in relationships where I go into deep depressions and have been trying to uncover why for years, terror and panick take over and I go meek and timid which is unlike my personality when I'm single. I have been watching you and trying to resolve without much success. Please please

I wonder if anyone reading can help me with this. I'm currently on week 5 of CBT. I feel worse than ever before since starting. We haven't even got that far into it and I feel so bad, anxious, depressed etc and I've had to start taking beta blockers. I feel like I I've waited for so long to get treatment I don't want to just give up but I feel so bad, I didnt have a session last week, next one is tomorrow and I'm dreading it ☹ I will bring this up either tomorrow but I feel like it's messed me up more than I was before and can't go on like this. I thought CBT would be the answer and I was looking forward to being "fixed" but no I'm not so sure. Anyone else had this issue?

@@middleearth8809 hi! I feel better than I did when I added that comment, thank you for asking. I mentioned how I was feeling to my therapist and we talked it out and it was actually a very good session! I'm going to continue with it and see it through to the end. I waited so long for this opportunity so it'd be a shame to give up now.

Anxiety comes from trying to control a situation and predicting the future. Maybe you're just expecting to be cured right away, and since you're on week 5 (at that time, not sure where you are now) you're just overwhelmed from wanting it to be cured. Also, are you releasing emotions around this feeling? Crying, yelling, venting really help to feel that release. Message me on Instagram @nickarhakos to talk more. Hope you feel better!
