Nc6 is playable for lower rated players but at the higher levels, e6 is a more necessary move.

Your French wasn't bad! But "j" in French is usually pronounced as it is in english as a soft "g" (ie, the j in jaguar) rather than the Spanish asphyxiated way (ie, the j jalapeno). In fact, the french word "Jardin" is very closely related to the English "Garden", just with a soft j rather than a hard g, an an minor vowel shift at the end.
