Comparing 4 sets of solid state logic, EQ's compressors and bus compressors. E and G channel options in different flavours and layouts with different feature sets on each. softube and IK multimedia proving a little digital twist can add something extra to the functionality giving the SSL sound in the box. as expected UAD is the warmest of the four on test.
Waves SSL Bundle contains E-channel and G-Channel as well as the G Strip and the Gbus Compressor.
UAD has the SSL E-Channel and GBus Compressor Sold independently of each other.
IK Multimedia covers E-Channel G-Channel and GBus in a bundle

NI Solid EQ: SSL X-Rack XR625 Based On SSL 9000K NI Solid Dynamics: SSL X-Rack XR418 Based On SSL 4000E NI Solid Bus: SSL X-Rack XR626 Based On SSL 4000G Just Wanted to Be an Help to the Community Just Bought These to Test Them and the sound was identical, NI's is Hidding a lot i knew they couldn't get their hand on old vintage hardware so they've modeled the new ones from an SSL X-RACK module which i own so i could easily figure it out.

@@Unders yes i was surprised too but blame it on NI's bad marketing schemes but their not bad overall they're some good emulation, they're just not emulating the hardware people thought it was emulating but hope it will help you in you're future videos to reveal these facts. but i've learned to like the x-rack one better since it makes drum more punchy and refined and doesn't quite color as hard as the other one and still introduces slight warmness while staying clean. the ssl is known for clean, punchy, gluing, slightly warm, modern compression characteristics that it gives a master that's why it's used on almost every modern hip hop music these days. i never had an ssl 4000g comp so i don't how it sound and why people love it so much it's kind of easy to ruin a mix that is compressed too much with it.

The guys from Analog Obsession has an emulation of the Bus Compressor and there is also the modified version by Cytomic called The Glue. Nice video, thanks a lot.

The AO SSL eq emulation sounds a lot better than most to my ears - AND it actually boosts/cuts at the frequencies that it says it does, unlike Waves, Brainworx, NI versions.

Great video,the differences are really subtle,......i think the bottom line here is if you would have to mix let's say one of pink floyds albums no one would really hear or care whether it was ik, waves, ni, uad.....cheers
