Here for workbook 2. This was a really deep video coach. I struggled a little answering the questions for this section. I had to really think about my parents in ways that I never really thought of them before in comparison to my previous partners. I'll have to come back to this section once I understand my parents better lol.

I've worked with trauma specialists and done regular therapy for years and years. I had all the pieces but THIS video puts them all together in a way no one would say before. I'm watching this video over and over again!

"We are attracted to people who are going to re-activate our childhood wounds in an effort to try and heal from them." Wow. I had a really hard time at school, have always struggled with self-esteem and have never felt likeable. The man who just broke up with me is a charismatic, pretty popular musician. Deep down I often suspected he gave me some kind of status I'd craved for all my life. He's also an anxious-sensitive type, like my Dad. D:

Doing the workbook and I’m having a hard time answering the questions and this made me think really hard about my early childhood and as family dynamics changes a lot in time as we learn to forgive our parents/caregivers for their deficiencies. I always felt I’m somehow bullied by my father, and in turn I also somehow bullied romantic partners and close friends.. It’s like me deriving pleasure when someone’s anxious like what I felt in childhood when I’m anxious and wanting for my father’s approval.. I hope by doing the workbook I can be a better person..

My parents, particularly my mom, are anxious people. I tend to be more attracted to avoidants. It's actually really difficult for me to find many similarities between the people I have had relationships with and my parents. Is that normal?
@terrycraig6386
@terrycraig6386 7 ай бұрын
Your mom, being anxious, likely was unpredictable in your early parenting.Avoidants can also be unpredictable in their interactions with you.anxious parents tend to focus on their own needs being met with spouse.also avoidants are very centered on themselves over their partner.See the connection? That's why you are drawn to avoidants.hope this helps.😊😊

My ex of 10 years was the complete opposite of my parents... she was attentive, very nurturing and understanding of me. Alot of emotional needs that went unmet for me growing up... she plugged the holes. It took time to get used to that, I occasionally projected my trauma on to her when she didnt do anything? Can you explain how that could possibly work?

Coach Craig, please please please do more videos on this. As a former anxious-attachment-style who would like to belive she is now an earned-secure, is it okay for me to still be attracted to a fearful-avoidant (like my father), or does that mean I'm really not an earned-secure and I have more healing to do??

I have a good question! What if you were adopted but you grew up in a family that met all your needs..Then years later bio family finds you and you meet parents and see so many similarities. I found that I attract men exactly like my biological parents and not like my adopted parents...
@shodowhawk
@shodowhawk 4 жыл бұрын
@@melodylynne2215 he has other videos where he talks about this. Apparently this all happens in the first 2 years or so, so depending on when it was you could still have a draw or trauma to them. Have you seen the videos on disorganised?

I am absolutely, positively, in no way shape or form even remotely attracted to anyone who reminds me even 0.001% of my mo, physically or personality. Not that my mom is 'bad' but she is a hyper-aggressive, extreme non-stop bitching complaining nag. Not only do I avoid such women like the plague, I actually SIT THEM DOWN and have "the talk" at the start of relationships. I say "i cannot tolerate nagging. If you nag me I will be INCAPABLE of continuing to love you." And i mean it. I have luckily never had a relationship with a nagging type.

Why do people say opposite attracts?
@themadmattster9647
@themadmattster9647 4 жыл бұрын
people of opposite "masculine and feminine polarity" can attract, but mostly this is a trope that is pushed by Hollywood (opposites attract) though it bears some truth if we look at what David Deida talks about. But I'd never date someone into autotune rap or following the kardashians the same as someone into that stuff wouldn't be into a guitarist who plays progressive metal more than likely lol
