Being a new bowler, it would be nice if you explained the physics behind the different cores.

Great video. I just watched a video on how bowling balls are manufactured in a small China factory. It was interesting on the number of cores in a ball. I never knew they made them like that. Now I understand that makes a difference on how the balls perform. I don't understand the physics, but assume it has depends on mass, weight, location of the holes and speed. Thanks for the great presentation on the different balls you displayed and discussed.

feel like i keep going back and forth with myself on this question but what makes a ball stronger. What core numbers am I looking for when I am looking for a stronger ball and number for a weaker ball?

Awesome video! Great to see the coverstock differences and that's making me consider a Hy-Road again! I was thinking of getting 2 balls (I prefer long, angular motions that can be well manipulated by my angle of release and Rev rate) so I was kind of settled on the Black Widow Ghost and a Brunswick Rhino, but the hy-road was my 3rd option, although I'm not sure if it's long or angular enough. My favorite balls were an Ebonite Tornado, Brunswick Slingshot and the old Tropical Storm, but I'm having a HARD time replacing that predictable yet variable motion that I'm used to with these newer balls. Any advice? I bowl about 17mph and I tend to have a hard time getting balls down the lane far enough (softer arching/more reactive balls like the Tropical Surge) or trouble modifying the angle is a problem I had with the Hammer Raw. I found I could modify the angle of a black widow easier than the Raw, which I know sounds crazy. Any advice is appreciated!

Hey there I actually shoot with a 12 pound ball. I've had shoulder surgery, back surgery and bicep surgery. On top of all that, I only bowl with 2 fingers in the ball " i don'tuse finger tips in my ball". You stated the lower the RG hooks better. The third ball that you spoke of with the center weight with a top weight. Would that be the best ball for me to have, to have a better curve. Right now I shoot with a Cuda solid solid.

Out of these three choices which core created better hook potential on a bowling ball: solid, two-piece, three-piece?

Is it possible to have a ball with a thick shell (no filler material) with a low RG? I'd say all the balls with thicker shells have higher RGs

the resin is the expensive part of the bowling ball. I'm sure there would be someone who would pay $1,000 for a bowling ball if it gives them an advantage but I double there would be enough sales to justify production. Also that is a LOT of fossil fuel / pollution just for a bowling ball if you did not use ceramics as a core
@BowlingCoachJustin
@BowlingCoachJustin 2 жыл бұрын
@@BassRacerx hyroad is all coverstock with a regular core in it. It's a $140 ball. You 2ould most likely have to put a bigger core inside to make it lower RG but expensive balls aren't new. Hell the Motiv Mythic Jackal is $220 online before drilling. Yea it would be more expensive but it shouldn't be a crazy ridiculous price. Brunswick did it with the re-release of the quantum and they were around the same price as the jackal just a bit higher RG.

I think most of the old visionary bowling balls were thick shelled with no filler, at least most of them? They had high and low rg stuff and lasted 4-ever
