I had to do the genocide run 3 times to actually beat it. First time I just straight up could not bring myself to kill papyrus. Second time I (a fool) could not get the last enemy in the core to spawn so thought maybe mettaton was the last enemy and fought mettaton with one enemy remaining then saved... that one hurt. Third time I beat it

Omg that glitch in the beginning tho. XD First time I tried the Genocide Route, I lost like 20 times as well against Undyne the Undying, getting more and more frustrated, annoyed, tired and angry the more times I lost and failed on things that were supposed to be easy (and also the yellow arrows, screw those things), but after my, like, 20th death or something on Undyne, I started laughing. Like, laughing of anger. I was all out of rage and tears and was so angry, all I could do was laugh. That was the first time I've ever laughed out of anger. It was weird. I did beat Undyne about the same amount as PointCrow did, 20-something, on first Genocide Route. On my second Genocide run, I lost about 10 times or something to Undyne, then I decided to buy and equip the Torn Notebook and Cloudy Glasses, which gives you longer Invinsibility, and I only lost about 3 more times while being REALLY close to beating her, and after that, I beat her. I still haven't beaten Sans yet tho, and first time I died to him like 130+ times, second time probably 50+ times before I gave up and went back to Neutral/True Pacifist. I like how the Genocide Run is overall pretty easy, but it also has the 2 hardest boss fights in the entire game, and while other battles start out easy and then gets gradually harder as the fights go on, the Genocide boss fights are hard all the way through. Really makes it a challenge worthy of any gamer! That's why Undertale is the best game ever! If you want a good story and wholesomeness, do True Pacifist. If you want lore and to satisfy your curiosity and various different endings, do Neutral. If you want a challenge, do Genocide. If you want to try a hardcore challenge, do Hard Mode (naming the human Frisk).

I think it’s so twisted that Asgore still tells you to “stay determined”. When I was younger, my opinion of Asgore was more positive, a flawed but forgivable character. But boy, he only sees you as another soul to collect. Massacre, befriend, neither, you’re still the last soul required to break the barrier. I still sympathize with Asgore, but now I sympathize with Toriel’s view of Asgore too (although still a little harsh imo. Just a tad).
