Totally agree. They’ve realistically have only had about a month’s worth of real practices. That’s not enough time to find that deep chemistry. They will find it. AB and Smith need to learn to work with CC as much as she needs to learn how to work with them. They weren’t ready for several of her passes last night and that caused the turnovers. People need to relax. They will get there. Samuelson, Mitchell and Wheeler were rusty. They need to lead by example. They weren’t as efficient as we expect them to be normally.

THIS IS HER FIRST GAME! And the opponent had prepared a gameplan especially for her like full court coverage to double teaming her, and her team had no play to help her out to make it easier and faster to bring the ball to their court. they just left her alone, she had no outlet passes so yeah she had a lot of turnovers, but if you have a keen eye, not all of them are her fault.
@Godsbackhand75 ай бұрын
@@rap3208so what you are admitting is that if every team that she plays against knows to just press her hard, they can get some free turnovers and not even have to worry about the rest of her team. They don’t play a ton of games, so watching film will be pretty quick and they will understand how to play her. It is also important to know that the Fever weren’t playing a top team in the wnba. There are a bunch of MUCH better teams who play much better defense. She will get some open shots from time to time, but I don’t expect her to just go off and make a huge difference. Had she balled out this first game, she could just carry the momentum. As of right now, you are likely to start seeing ratings drop quickly.

This isn’t just about CC needing time for an adjustment period as a rookie, she’s also getting the competitor’s best defender every game. Most rookies are not coming into the league under that kind of defensive pressure. She’s being double and triple teamed. Other teams can afford to do this and still beat the Fever by double digits, because there are no other offensive threats on the Fever to help take some of the pressure off of her. She’s in a stagnant offense on a team with a losing record in 2023 who got the 1st pick in the draft 2 years in a row. Some organizational changes are going to need to happen if the team continues to get worse. Change starts from the top to the bottom.

She will be fine! Preseason was triple teams. Now they have moved onto full court press. Kobe had 8 points his first game and Steph Curry 12 points. MJ scored 16 points and Lebron scored 25 points. Caitlin scored 20 points she will be fine. LMAO!

No one is. I have not heard a single person say "this means she will fail." I have heard ppl wrongfully celebrating the 10 TOs. But perhaps they are just done with the hate they get when they dare to criticize her game. DT was crucified for even saying she will need time to adjust. And there you have it. Besides, anyone who thinks she is not going to torch the WNBA, is an idiot. That level of talent and IQ. she will figure it out.

Caitlin had a bad game and still hit 4 threes and scored 20. If she had 10 turnovers and 5 points that would be different. A bad game for her is still 20 points. Imagine when she improves?

She had a great first game. To still put up 20 in her first game is exceptional. She will be fine

Cooper had 9 turnovers in her debut. Dt had 7 Turnovers in her debut. It more of a nervous thing than any. She still had 20 points which was tied for the most points in that game. And she got double teamed alot. Here is another interesting thing Fever have 11 games in the next 16 days. The first 5 of those games are against teams in the playoffs last year.. I do except them to make the playoffs

She has NOT lifted the league. She does NOT represent every woman in sports. She is NOT what everyone hyped her up to be. This is the byproduct of media hype and an over zealous fanbase. She is not Steph, Durant, MJ or LeBron. She is not going to change the game with her play. She brought new eyes to the game for sure through the media and that's a good thing.

The wnba is enjoying an all-time high in gross receipts and media coverage. wnba players that nobody cared to know are being talked about now. they have chartered flights now. All that after just 2 pre-season and one regular games, that is the caitlin effect, and all you and your ilk wants to do is put her down.
@godsoracle12125 ай бұрын
@@rap3208 you mean players that YOU and the rest of the Caitlin cult never cared about let alone knew about. Welcome to the league that will expose all of the weaknesses that were easy to hide when she was better than 90% of her competition during much of her time at Iowa. This is the WNBA where the competition is just as good and even better than she is in various aspects of the game. You think the “logo” 3 is worth more than the 3 an inch beyond the line. Well, they count the same. I see that you will go through these growing pains with her. Well buckle up, it’s about to be a very bumpy ride.

WHO SAYS She will change the game? It is just you haters claiming it. All her fans want is for her coach to let her shoot. Her shooting the lights out of the arenas from deep three is what exactly got all her games standing room only.

Cynthia Cooper had 25 points and 8 turnovers in her debut. The entire league has big turnovers in the first games of the season due to only having 2 week from draft to start a season. Check the turnover stats from this season’s debut games

She’s good but Overrated…Candace Parker almost had a 34 point triple double her first game as a rookie,then got rookie of the year…
@rap32085 ай бұрын
Did the opponent prepare a gameplan especially against Candace? Like full court press against her, double teams, tag teaming her all game? Their plan against Caitlin was to put her down for being more popular than all the wnba players put together without even playing a single wnba game. Because of that, other teams/plyers will exert extra effort than usual to make Caitlin's games miserable for her.
