The plaintiff says she and the defendant went to Hawaii, but the defendant is trying to get out of paying for her half, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues she has already given the plaintiff money, but she's trying to tack on extra expenses the defendant didn't agree to.

The initial impression of the plaintiff was positive, but as the case progressed, it became evident why Judge Marilyn ruled in favor of the defendant. The plaintiff failed to provide sufficient evidence regarding the communication about hotel costs, which weakened her case. It appears that her decision to bill the defendant for the hotel costs arose only after she became upset and angry. Seeking financial retribution she herself hadn't enforced, she seemed to hope Judge Marilyn would impose the cost. Furthermore, her threat to Doug about recording without permission, followed by a mention of involving the County Sheriff upon her return, seemed driven by vindictiveness. This declaration was delivered with a sense of satisfaction, reminiscent of a desire for revenge, reminiscent of the "I'll get her and her little dog too" sentiment from 'The Wizard of Oz.'

This is a unfortunate case, in all reality no one wins because they ultimately lost a friendship in the end. I dont believe the defendant would agree to pay half of the resort fee 3 days before the trip. She's a mother of two young children, she already paid for the flight and most likely thought this was a great opportunity being that the resort was paid. The plaintiff wouldve lost out on the ticket and resort fees if no one took her granddaughters place. Rip in peace to the granddaughter.

I feel like the Defendant went to Maui and realized how expensive everything is. I don't think she had the money and she felt a little embarrassed. I think it's bad taste to send a bill to someone right before the flight. I would have sent a text to say we will handle everything after. Also, with the plantiff saying she will pay for dinner. I'm sure the mom felt uncomfortable with the pricing. I can totally understand her reaction especially if they weren't getting along. The older lady seems to be someone that throws stuff in others faces.

I do not believe the plaintiff expected the resort costs knowing she’d already paid for it and would lose it if she didn’t go. I would’ve expected just the plane fare. And the defendants ability to not blink and remain emotionless is fantastic. Why do people always complain about being recorded 🤦🏽‍♀️

The plaintiff bought the trip for her granddaughter as a gift, so had the defendant not gone, the plaintiff would have had to go alone or else lose out completely, as the hotel and flights were already paid for, so all the defendant owes is for the fees to change the name on the tickets, which she has already paid, so why on earth does the plaintiff think the defendant should refund a 'gift' that was for her granddaughter, perhaps she should sue her granddaughter, oh right she can't, she's dead...
