David Goggins is a retired Navy SEAL and an ultra-marathon runner/triathlete. He has competed in over 60 ultra-marathons, triathlons, and ultra-triathlons, setting new records and regularly placing in the top 5. He finds that these races callous of the mind, much like going through Hell Week for BUD\S training. He grew into child abuse and bullying but didn’t let these event define him. Not a power lifter at all as I doing my second shoulder reconstruct in a few months. But this is my favorite Goggins interview, listened to it 3 times in my first 12 hour race last weekend. It got me to 29 miles. Going to get the push up sling shot to see if it helps prepping next surgery

Haha I think he's spot on about the people at the top of their field being very unbalanced but appear to have a normal life on the surface. It's like when people watch the Olympics and say "I'd like to do that" not considering the thousands of hours of dedication to their sport, the reality is that wouldn't like to do that but they'd like the recognition of having the titles in the sport.

I am a big time fan of Goggins and I am at a stage of life where I have taken that conscious decision to grind myself but my family doesn't want me to be like that because they have never seen me like this before, I got confused to this day either to keep my decision or let it go.
