Wow, I have been searching for any kind of reasonably priced internet. Desperately need it. Thanks to your videos, I found this. Visible didn't have the phone I wanted available in stock, but I scooped something up, and my phone was at my door by 1 PM the next day. Set up is a breeze, and the hotspot is great so far. I may just get four plans myself with that great deal and have hotspots for my car, a home phone, whatever else I might need them for. I am super psyched. Thank you for helping at least temporarily put my mind at ease with everything else going on in the world. This helps so much.

I have the same experience with you. Fedex per did even go to my door to leave the notice. He just posted outside my front gate. I had to call his supervisor to let him know that it was a valentine's gift. The driver finally came back. VIsible is top notch in sending it out, next day delivery. Unlike you, I only get one sim card. I had the sim in in ZTE blade and usually the down load speed is 6mbs. I just took out the sim and put it in my xs max and it works perfectly fine. No need to make any changes or setting. Speed is lower than my verizon post paid old legacy unlimited plan. However, for $25 compare to $95 i will take Visible anytime. ALso, my old plan did not include hotspot, if I want hotspot, I have to pay $30 more. Like you mention, Visible will not work on edge, 1x, 2g or 3g. It only works on 4G LTE.

pro tip from a phone farmer. DO NOT..... just plug this phone in and leave it on the charger forever like a router. this will cause the batttery to bloat. and risk exploding. the phone needs to cycle its charge. so plug it in and put the charger on a timer so it has a break from the charger. a few hours on and a few hours off. it will make the phone last alot longer. and it is much safer. great vid

Take a cheap laptop with a 1gbp eithernet connector and wireless N. Then, connect the laptop via wireless to the phone's hotspot. Then, in the laptop, share the internet connection. then, plug a cat 5e cable into the wired connection of the laptop, and then into the WAN port of a wireless router. Boom baby, instant network.

#1 100ms average ping speeds is not very impressive. For some games it would be considered very bad dependng on the user. #2 You will only be able to use streaming services at 480p per Visible's plan description. I had that with a previous carrier and it was almost unusable . #3 What we really need to know is can you take that SIM card out of the phone and pop it into a router modem so that you do not need the phone for home internet purposes. Thanks for trying out the service and keeping us up to date on ideas. After ATT shut down the best service out there its been a real challenge for us rural folks to get internet that really works.

There is currently no router on the market that will work with Visible. With that said I am working with ALFA and they are making a 4G booster and wireless router that I am Beta testing for them and it is working great with Visible. They are currently fixing a couple of issues that I recommended to them and once finished I will be releasing a video of the product and they will making the product available to the public. Also I have had 720p video on the Visible R2 phone and 1080p on computer using there Hotspot without a VPN but a lot of people say the VPN works as a work around for that.

@@cynicalmikey8769 That's great to hear. Yes a VPN would normally work to hide your content but several of the streaming services block them like Amazon prime for example. Im probably going to have to start trying a few new ideas myself. I've been doing this for a couple years now and ATT was the best, by far solution. Hopefully they decide to really help out rural customers like they promised the govt in the first place. Maybe the TMO and Sprint merger will get us something as well, I am crossing my fingers. I can see the last comcast pole with their cable from my house but they will not even talk to me even if I offer to pay extra for the install. They wont even call me back. Hey Mike I may have some insight on the variance of your gaming performance. The LTE hotspot connection does not give NAT access, thereby limiting your Xbox's connectivity during multiplayer due to how their network functions. The LTE hotspot is able to connect to XBox live as NAT Type 2, which is moderately better than NAT Type 3, which is just you sending packets to a burning dumpster and inhaling the smoke. Over the years I've noticed ISPs rolling all in one routers (modem & router) and I haven't seen a model yet that will let your NAT access by higher than Type 2 or in some cases, Type 1. If you one of these AIO combo routers (you can look up the model # online and find out) then you should ask your ISP if you can get a model that isn't a modem and router combo. You may have to buy a third party modem and set it up yourself, but you'd have to look into the compatibility for that yourself. Can't promise anything if it isn't officially supported by your ISP, but you should be able to find one for your ISP if your ISP doesn't officially offer it. Anyways, Once you got your modem setup, go to portforwarding.com and search your modem's routing #, add the ports for Xbox. Then connect your router to the modem and get all your stuff setup running through the model and in your router's settings this time, add the same portforwarding stuff for your router's model #. That should give you a NAT Type 1. There's no reason you should be having a better gaming experience on 81 ping vs 15-30ping except for the NAT restriction and I see there in your video your Xbox is on a NAT 2 connection. While slightly better than Type 1, still utter dogshit compared to what you could have. I hope this helps. I was in a similar situation myself. You're looking at a guy that pushed more LTE data through Sprint's network than Pablo Escabar pushed cocaine through Arkansas when Bill Clinton was governor. I only recently got cable internet in my area. I just went through 16 years of dealing with this. God bless.

Wife and I have been using this Visible service for almost 3 years now and have never had a problem. Have one hotspot connected to a tplink travel router. Use a ravpower file hub in the motor home. Sometimes it buffers, but we can live with that because we are each only paying $25 a month for 2 phones instead of the $135 we were paying for just hers. And now we are no longer giving $100 a month just for internet to comcast.

There is no $20 phone. The cheapest phone they offer is $49. And they DO cap hotspot data at 5MBPS. Also, you can only connect one device at a time to the hotspot. And the $25 plan is ONLY for the first month, after that it's $40
@51stfilms

There is a $19 R2 phone when it's in stock. They do NOT cap hotspot speeds to 5mbps, and they specifically state that on their website. I've also done speed tests in 2 videos to prove the cap doesn't exist. You can buy cheap travel routers. You can connect your hotspot to the router and then connect up to 5 devices at the same time, using your hotspot. You can also BYOD that doesn't allow hotspots to be capped. The $25 plan is permanently $25 if you join the party pay plan. I had a party filled up in 4 hours. We are all paying only $25 a month for as long as we want.

If you ever do get throttled on the hotspot usage, change your packet headers to TTL 65. Doing this is fairly easily with a rooted phone, but you can USB tether to a router like an Asus and with Merlin wrt installed you can enable jffs and telnet instructions to change the header
@davecarsley8773
@davecarsley8773 4 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter what the packet headers on the phone are. It matters what they are on the device you're connecting to the hotspot. Why would you need a rooted phone to change your laptop's TTL to 65??
@joshuaprice1535

@@davecarsley8773 you're assuming everyone is trying to use a laptop. for devices like a PS4, non rooted tablets, iPads,etc you can't change their headers.. rooting the phone allows you to modify the headers of packets in the hotspot without the need to change each device or tethering with a router that does it.

If nobody has mentioned it, you can use Speedify to merge two connections into one using a laptop with its build in antenna and another USB antenna. 12MBPS without using anything fiddly like PDAnet is pretty cool. Heck you could even get three extra antennas and get up to 24MBPS for 100/m total :)

its better to get an unlocked device from amazon tbh. Visible along with all these shitty cheap services mess with the OS. you might be getting 9.0 but its just a shell of what the real 9.0(pie) is and can do, otherwords they alter the OS to limit its full capabilities, such as limiting the amount of hotspot connected devices. then they fill it with adtrackers and spyware.

@@toddlafond2920 I bought this router on Amazon: GL.iNET GL-MT300N-V2 Wireless Mini Portable Travel Router. It has a usb input. I connected my iphone 6s that has a visible sim in it and really had no issue getting it to work. This also keeps the iphone charged and I don't have an overheating problem. This also has 2 rj-45 jacks. one is input, one is output. I connected my output to my ring alarm to make sure it always has internet. I think you could also connect to a more powerful router with or without the travel router. I have had zero issues with anything. It has only been one week since I signed up with Visible. You might be able to connect wireless but your phone will be working a lot harder and overheat. It will wear out a phone in a year from what I have read.

@@toddlafond2920 one of the main attractions of travel routers is for hotel stays. Most hotels limit how many devices can be connected to their wifi per room. Travel routers pick up the signal and redistribute it to multi devices. They also allow you to create your own password encrypted network when pulling from public wifi if I understand correctly. So in theory, I should be able to order it and connect it wirelessly to the hotspot.

Why would u say on the 2nd video that u were paying 60. a month if u were going to cancel Netbuddy in Jan? Cynical Mikey why didn’t you just stick with att data I signed up 2weeks ago and it’s under 40. I use as a internet backup for miscellaneous devices. Who is you’re cable provider ? Cable is a must for me with so many device in the house. For 90:bucks you could get a gigabyte or lower plans with good speed and no data cap for extra 4 bucks mid you’re renting the equipment. Or try prepaid xfinity internet 45 bucks no data if those Services are available in your area it seems like I have to do all this in this particular video is a lot to do and horrible speed. The netgear MR1000 is a good device for multiple devices and you can travel with it. Unlocked of course

Yes the phone will get hot if you use it as a hotspot and you will wear the phone out in a year (from what I have read). You can tether your phone to a hotspot with a USB input. Google to find which ones. I used this one: GL.iNET GL-MT300N-V2 Wireless Mini Portable Travel Router

@@gregb8759 Bought an Apple factory refurbished Iphone 7 plus (looked brand new with a new battery) a year and a half ago when Visible first started because at that time you could only use Iphones on the plan. I have had the Iphone plugged into power 24 hours a day ever since (except of course when I leave my apartment) to power my home internet and at less congested network times during the day to power 2 additional devices as well. I have never experienced any warm issues with the phone. I might add that I checked the other day and found that the Iphone still has 88% battery life left. If you live in an area with good Verizon service (I live less than a mile from one of their towers) you should check it out. I mean for 25 bucks a month out the door it's hard to beat. Great review on that 19 dollar phone...was curious as to how it would function. I love Visible. Great Verizon phone coverage no matter where I have traveled in the U.S. combined with home internet. Humungus savings from when I ditched Comcast cable a year and a half ago.

Did you get a chance to try the TTL trick to see if that improves your upload speeds while using hotspot?
@southernexposure526
@southernexposure526 4 жыл бұрын
I set my TTL to 40 it works better than 65 or 64 for me. I also use "SG TTP optimizer" it works pretty good, "Internet Accelerator 2" is another option that works well. I've found that "regedit4" helps after runing either optimizer. I then set my MTU to 1450 in the cmd, it keeps my ping @20ms with speeds regularily between 20-35 down 5-8 up (up of 48 once, but that was an outlier). I also use "PDANet" and tether using my charging cord, that way I can, and do also run an ethernet cable directly from my pc to my Tv, my kids stream 4k AND I'm playing WOWS at the same time, between matches i'm watching 1080p youtube on my pc I continuously find new ways to optimize my system. Playing with a lot of registry tweaks, powershell, cmd, exc... DNS 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1 Verizon prepaid moto E5 play from walmart, on the unlimited prepaid card. I swear by verizion because I drove coast to coast without EVER losing service, I also have a gig job that puts me in areas where my counterparts always lose service, and I can keep doing my job even in areas where others can't. I can't say enough about how happy I am with verizon prepaid.

download speed are slow... it took 5hours for a 500gb game to download off of googleplay, so i can only assume upload speeds are worse. and times usually double from download speeds so i would say a 500gb upload will take about 10hrs... so a small youtube upload of 100gb should take about 2hrs... about 1hr and 50min longer than it should.

www.verizon.com/smartphones/samsung-galaxy-a20/?sku=sku3600269 -- this is the A20. Really, Samsung phones or iPhones are the way to go in my opinion. The S series of Samsung phones are THE ones to go with, but they're too expensive! My current phone is a J7, for example. It's a "detuned" S7. The A20 is a "detuned" S20. They're powerful enough to last you through 2-3 years of new phone cycles before you'll want to upgrade. And they don't cost nearly a thousand bucks! This one is $250. Don't spend $500+ on a phone. They're meant to be replaced. Technology is advancing fast, and most phones can't keep up after a few years.

take a old or new router hook it up to a laptop/or big pc thru ethernet(use a ethernet crossover cable) then make go to network settings on pc right click property then enable network sharing to wi-fi also make sure http is enabled i just check all boxes this should route internet to router turning your pc in essence a internet hub broadcasting whatever internet you connect from...cell phones ,unlocked access point,mcdonalds ect...as long u can get it via wi-fi.try it first before u dismiss it.(that crossover ethernet cable is very important will not work with a standard ethernet cable)well it didnt for me.

God forbid it never arrived or was stolen we'll still have someone to complain about that.Meanwhile most deliveries can be arranged by Amazon and some others that you can pick up your product at the facilities at your convenience.WOW!
