@@KatoKrazy If you are eating a balanced diet, everything you said would also be true. I barely put any effort into what I eat and still have those effects, it's only an improvement to go keto if you were absolutely trashing your body with sugar and simple carbs all the time, which, to be fair, if you are American, it's not that hard to do, so there might be a benefit there. But apart from helping completely clueless people, keto is not any better that a regular balanced diet, it's probably worse due to cutting a whole food group out actually, so there is that too.

These extreme diets really make people dive even further into their food fears and bad relationships with food, and food should not be something scary. It's about nourishing your body, giving you energy to function and to do all the stuff you wanna do. I no longer eat many vegetables. I buy eggs five dozen at a time. The huge issue is getting from burning carbohydrates for fuel to burning fat… because when you don’t have carbohydrates, and you’re sick of eating meat and eggs and butter, you eat less. Burning fat creates ketones, which may cause nausea, and a lack of appetite. For the morbidly obese, this is a more comfortable method of starvation. I use a toddler plate (7”, the size my grandmother had) and small silverware. I have not failed on the keto diet, because I also respect my body by restricting my portions. You really just have to get used to not eating until you are super full. If you’re not hungry, you have no obligation to eat. Food is better in the trash than on your hips.

@@bostonstrongpatriots8881 There is nothing bad in animal products for your heart, bacon might have depending on how it's made (a lot of bacon is full of added chemicals). Already in 90's there were huge studies like the Women's Health Initiative that proved that unsaturated fats (like plant oils) make no difference (at best, some groups did worse). Protein and fat keep you quite satiated, so you aren't eating all that much, and some of it you poop out. Some evidence also suggests that long term (4+m) ketogenic diets increase your energy expenditure by 200-400kcal / day. The problem with the keto diet is that you can get a ton of calories from added fats quickly, for example, bulletproof coffee, fat bomb desserts, cooking everything in oils, etc. A carnivore diet tends towards a much higher ratio of protein, so the calories end up being naturally lower, and the protein is very satiating. I can eat a couple pounds of meat per day, plus occasionally add some fruit or vegetables for variety, and feel full and energetic all the time. It does take some time to adapt though.

Popcorn can be eaten sweet or savory so you could infuse herbs and spices in your oil before putting in the kernels and if you want caramel just use less sugar to make caramel and sweeten it with any sweetener you'd like. Those are my tricks

I did the induction phase for the Atkins Diet years ago, loss over 40 pounds in the summer. I only ate meat, foul, poultry, cheese, and eggs. Starting off, the scale went down 2 pounds a day, it slowed down, I drink a lot of water, and exercised everyday. It worked and I was obsessed. It was easy for me to stay on it. I wouldn't do it again. I know how much weight can be lost, and it's tempting but those days are far from me

I was on a carnivore diet for about 2 months or so at one point. Ribeye steak is my all time favorite food so I figured I’d try it out. I’m not sure if I got any leaner, but I really enjoyed eating nothing but my favorite food for breakfast lunch and dinner. Ultimately the reason why I went off it wasn’t because I got tired of steak, (I could never get tired of steak) it was just too inconvenient. I had to be ridiculously picky ordering at restaurants and it was usually expensive, when ever I was at some kind of party or gathering I pretty much couldn’t eat anything, and it sucks when someone invites you over to their place for dinner and you have to explain that you probably wont be able to eat anything she makes because you can only eat ribeyes. If you really like steak, you could probably do it too, but ultimately it just isn’t worth the inconvenience, and its impractical to do it long term.

I definitely trust Dr Berry over you Greg, sorry to say. Sure eating your way works for people that are metabolically functioning, but eating low / no carb works for everyone once they get adapted. Also you aren't starving yourself and needing to stuff yourself -- your body has plenty of fat to feed off of especially if you are overweight and you won't even be hungry. It's not like the hangry carb eaters get.

I have a very rare autoimmune disease that attacks my nerves. I eat a full carnivore diet 100% of the time because of that. This diet they were saying people can’t do or sustain is exactly the way I eat. I cannot have anything that causes inflammation because it gives me fatigue, pain, numbness and tingling. It’s amazing what you can do when you have no other choice. Since switching to carnivore all of my symptoms have gone away. If I eat off my diet, that’s when I have problems. Sugar is the absolute worst for inflammation.

I did carnivore for 3 months. So no veggies and only steak,chicken and liver meat. I only dropped 10 pounds. Meanwhile I just dropped 41 pounds in 6 months by being in a caloric deficit. So you will gain weight on any diet if you are not in a caloric deficit.

@frankc3922 жыл бұрын
Loved Ally in the video and when are you getting more protein bars? They are great, I buy them for my boys as well. Although, I'm a bit disappointed with the unhealthy oils in it, although it seems minimal. Any bars with good oil have crap protein (soy, Rice, etc), while every bar with good protein has bad processed oils - can't win. Nevertheless, yours are the best out of the dozens I tried.
I'm 57 years old and have been doing this diet for 5 months. I'm 159 lbs and 9% by DEXA. Easiest way to eat EVER. I eat whenever and I'm never hungry. Performance you ask? How about weighted dips with 3x45lbs for 5? Or maybe that I work out 3 hrs legs then walk over to the peck deck and do the hole stack? Oh BTW, I retired at age 53 due to extreme metabolic fatigue. Don't believe? I've got a few videos posted.

If you take insulin and dont eat anything (glucose for that matter) you won’t die of starvation, you’ll die from hypoglycemia. The thing about insulin is that it signalizes biochemical reactions in your cell, like the breakdown of glucose in ATP in cellular respiration, which in turn will need a glycosidic substract that can come from carbohydrates you eat or glicerol from your triglicerydes (a process called beta-oxidation). Thats why managing insulin is extremely important in weight loss (sorry if I misspelled anything, I didnt learn all these scientific mumbo-jumbo in english

@@hata6290 basically you have to decrease insulin resistance, so that smaller quantities of insulin exposure can trigger biochemical reactions in the cell. You can do that with calorie deficit and physical activity. Ofc eating junk also increases insulin resistance, thats why your diet should be mostly clean stuff

Carnivore isn't horrible as a diet, its extreme but good for elimination diet reasons and it can cause you to not want to eat much because you not only will feel satiated but also just not want to eat more meat (kinda did this with chicken and broccoli only diet a while back, by day 3 I didn't want to eat at all). It isn't for everyone though and if you are honestly trying to make life changes then you are better off working towards fixing your overall eating habits so you don't relapse after the "diet" is over. But the Ken Berry MD is absolutely wrong when it comes to "eat as much as you want". You will still gain weight if you over eat, calories in calories out, you aren't a magical thermodynamic denying unicorn. He is also spouting nonsense about bacon and butter, again you can't eat all you want no matter what the diet is. AND he is ignoring the most important part that if you don't change your other lifestyle bad habits you will go right back to being overweight/obese once you are off the diet.
@manhartlol64512 жыл бұрын
Well I did use this "diet" as a reset for my body to get my pre-diabetes and insulin levels in check, your hunger is actually really low on it so no wonder it's "infinite" food , you just can't overeat it without a big stimulus from insulin. It is not sustainable but really good to get off from the shit stuff we eat daily being extremely overprocessed. Also after a week you actually do feel amazing ( very similar to fasting which I also do once per half year for a week, it helps me with my hunger issues ). So far in my last 2 year journey I lost 30kg and weight on scale still goes down :)

My wife and I have been doing this diet for over a year now, and are living it. I broke my sugar addiction and lost over 100lbs of fat. My wife reversed her type 2 diabetes and has lost 60lbs of fat so far. We're both 50 and feel better than we have at any time in our lives. For us it's been the easiest diet to stick to, and there have been other benefits (better skin, oral health, mental clarity, energy levels) that almost outshine the massive weight loss. I planned on going 90 days, but after a year and a couple of weeks I never want to go back. We do not eat liver or brains and our blood work is phenomenal. We started back at the gym in April, and have been training harder than last time, and I look better than I have at any point in my life EVER! Believe it or not some people hate fruits and vegetables,,, and French toast. As you always say find what's sustainable for you, for us this diet has been the best thing ever.

fasting seems to work for me and I don’t binge on my non-fasting days. I don’t do it all the time but when I feel like my gut is just so bloated and constipated I do some fasting and it gets everything working again. I used to gain about 10-15 lbs every winter but this year with some fasting days built in I only gained 5lbs. I am now trying to get over a plateau (want to lose about 10lbs) and doing some fasting to get me there. I hope I can maintain (mostly) this winter again as I did last winter. I have such a hard time eating in a slight deficit every single day to lose so if I eat every other day I know I can eat a normal amount on my “eat” days and nothing on my fasting days and I will be in a deficit instead of trying to cut and be in a deficit every day.
