Very Good Info. I guess after all these years I'll start using this app better. Thank You!

You’ll be surprised at how good the app really is. I have a client who was a diehard pages fanatic and when I flipped her over to Notes after 10 years of talking to her about it she was blown away by how much she could do in such an easier way than you do with most word processers. Keep watching, there’s more to come.

As one who loves trivia and APPRECIATES Y-O-U I have to add that the 'three dots' are an ELLIPSIS. Keep your superb tutorials coming. I wish I'd have discovered you LONG ago. Very well presented.
@TheMacWhisperer6 сағат бұрын
Oh my friend… I laughed quite hard when you shared this tip. I am 100% aware that the three dots are called an ellipses. I am part of the Gen X generation that uses ellipses in all of my writings, to the point that people are constantly rolling their eyes and asking why I needed to do an ellipses rather than a comma or a period. And you are verycorrect… That’s exactly what the three dots are. But you and I are amongst the minority of knowing that it’s called an ellipses. If I called it an ellipses Regularly in my videos I would have 1000 comments asking what that is… So thank you for knowing… thank you for pointing it out… thank you for the laugh.. and of course thank you for watching (did you see what I did there…).

You absolutely can export notes. You can export them to a PDF by clicking on the share button, then click print, then click share again you will see the option to save it as a PDF and then you can export it anywhere you like.

Excellent video. I learned more about ways to use the Notes app. I have a special request. Would you be able to do videos on integrating Siri shortcuts with the Notes app? I have clients that are visually impaired and they want a writing system. I have integrated some shortcut functionality with the Notes app to create basic notes, but it would be nice to know of some more hands-free note taking options. Thank you! 🙏🏿

Great suggestion! I'll add it to my list of videos to film, but I warn you, that list is pretty long at this point. And I've got a handful of priority videos for the next couple of months. But it's definitely something I will work on.

I always keep my phone on the latest operating system... and in this case I am on the iOS 18.2 beta that was released about a week ago. Many of the things you will see on my phone are either because I'm on the beta, I'm on Apple intelligence, or because I'm on an iPhone 16 pro. What phone/operating system are you on?
@adco22 сағат бұрын
I don’t run betas, but I do like to stay updated. So I am 18.1
@jimdodson4100Күн бұрын
I noticed that your notes app has phone recordings and also a different selection on the bottom. I use the iPhone iPhone 14 Pro Max do I need to upgrade my iPhone to the iPhone 15 to use Apple Intelligence?
@TheMacWhispererКүн бұрын
My phone is on iOS 18.2, which is the beta release. iOS 18.1 was fully released last Monday. Apple Intelligence is a part of iOS 18.1, but Apple Intelligence is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and later... So while you can upgrade to the latest operating system, the iPhone 14 will not get the Apple Intelligence features... In spite of many people asking and assuming that eventually Apple will change that, I'll straight up tell you that Apple will never change that decision, and Apple Intelligence will never come to any phone earlier than the iPhone 15 Pro. If Apple Intelligence is important to you, you may want to upgrade... That being said, please note that Apple Intelligence will be rolled out over the next 12-18 months, with new features being released every update... So a lot of people have decided to wait to upgrade to a newer phone and tell all of the Apple Intelligence features are fully released sometime next year.

GREAT video! I don’t see the paper clip or AI in my notes…HELP? I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and IOS 17.6.1 Cheers ~ Alan
@TheMacWhispererКүн бұрын
Hi Alan. I always keep my phone on the latest operating system and usually on the upcoming beta operating system. This video was shot with iOS 18, which your iPhone 12 is fully capable of supporting. My phone is currently on iOS 18.2, so you might see some differences, and since I have an iPhone 16 Pro, you'll also see Apple Intelligence features that are not available on the 12 Pro. Hope that answers your questions!
@TheMacWhispererКүн бұрын
For sure the first thing you should do is get your phone up to iOS 18.1... the current operating system.

Wow! Your screen grab of your phone (I assume it's yours?) shows 413 unread emails, 50 missed phone calls and 36 unread text messages?! Dude, that would drive me crazy. Good content here, though 😆
@TheMacWhisperer2 күн бұрын
The joke about that is, at any given time I'm usually pretty close to 0 on all my notifications. But, when I film videos (which I do all day once a week), I turn all of my notifications off so that I can focus and work. It's kind of like you caught me with my pants down. By the point in the day this video was shot I was behind on EVERYTHING. But within an hour of finishing shooting I was caught up, but the screen capture recorded my dirty little secret. It's funny because I know people who have tens of thousands of unread messages and hundreds of missed phone calls - so I know what you mena about it driving you crazy!!!! That was just a few hours of notifications for me.
@patz6689Күн бұрын
Oh my gosh! Great value in this video - but 3K notes! 400+ unread emails… I’m taking a Xanax just looking at your files. 😅 All good info though. Quantity is only a problem if it’s disorganized.

I don’t have the icloud folder in my notes app
@TheMacWhispererКүн бұрын
- If you don't have any folders, you won't see the iCloud folder. - If your iCloud account is named something else (like.Mac or Apple), it will say that instead. - If you are not using iCloud to synchronize your Apple Notes, it won't say iCloud, it will say Google or something else. If the latter is the case, you should definitely consider migrating those notes into the Apple ecosystem. For more information, go to Settings

Here’s one of my notes; - [ ] Can’t move info from one note to another - have to copy paste and then go back and delete - [ ] Can’t manually change order of notes in All iCloud list. Very limited sorting options. - [ ] Can’t write in different colors and highlight - [ ] Does not play with Reminders app - [ ] Cannot highlight text - [ ] Cannot change text color
@TheMacWhispererКүн бұрын
I don't disagree with any of the notes you have, but I will address them here: 1. Cutting and pasting is an efficient way to move things from one note to another. If you cut the entire note, you won't need to go back and delete it because it will delete itself - notes don't allow empty notes to exist when there's no text on it. 2. If you pin a note, you can change the order by putting the important ones up top. Otherwise, you can sort by date added, date edited, or by title. If you want more manual options, create a folder and put the important notes into that folder, so that you know where they are. 3. As of iOS 18, you can highlight on the phone, you could always change colors from the computer. 4. Everybody wants notes and reminders to be combined, but to me they are two very different programs. Notes is for things that I want to refer back to and store forever. Reminders is for things I want to accomplish. There actually is a way to link them together, if you have a note and you click on the share button you can share it directly to reminders, so that the reminders app will prompt you about that note at a specific date and time. If you want the notes that you create in notes to be in reminders, you should just put them in reminders to begin with. 5. As I said in #3, as of iOS 18 you can highlight notes on your phone or iPad. 6. As I said in #3, "If you want to change the text color, it has to be done on the computer. Yes, that's annoying... but it's really the only major issue on your list that I don't have a solution for unless you just do it from the computer. (And if you don't have an Apple computer, I understand your frustration... but if you do, you have many more formatting and adjustment tools there that will transfer directly over to the iPhone and iPad Notes app.) Thanks for sharing your notes about notes. Let me know if I can help you address any of those issues or give additional tools. And if you want to know more about my thoughts around notes and reminders being combined, check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH7JqGSKjMelbtE

Thank you for that. It's pretty funny because half of the viewers say I move too slow and the other half say I move too fast. Adjusting the speed is the way to find your proper pacing. Thanks for helping out!
