My left quad and hip flexor were screaming! But I needed this deep stretch so bad. Can’t wait to watch and follow along with your hamstring video. Thanks for all you do

I would add to this.... those of us with true Hip Flexor tightness are also at risk of anterior sheering of the femoral head. Which can leda to labral tears etc. I would suggest making sure the stretch is felt in the MUSCLE ( think thigh ) versus the joint or capsule. If you have anterior tilted pelvis from childhood, it is likely not only muscles that are shorter. Pay attention to your body is my #1 advice.

Yes, potentially. I think there are always individual circumstances to consider. This is quite a long routine for just the hip flexors. It’s intended more to teach each of the positions and then you can select which ones worked best for you

Best channel I've found for stretching and strengthening. Do you have specific routines for quads, or are they all in the hip flexing follow alongs? I'm in my 60s and haven't been able to squat fully for a long time and latterly knee pain and associated issues. Improving slowly but hopefully faster now I'm stretching daily. Thanks and keep up the great work.

Out of nowhere I started experiencing low back/hip pain for almost 9 months. Ive lost 40 pounds working out in the gym for over 18 months and love weight lifting which I thought was the culprit, (dead lifting or gym overuse). I even thought it may be the mattress since it hurts getting out of bed. Stretching didnt resolve it, chiropractic made it worse, PT is helping a little. I just finished this video and feel better already. Will continue this video hoping for complete resolution. Thank you very much.

Tom, I love your videos and your explanations! And here I need your help - I need advice or a routine. My left quad (only left) is tight for months now - quad, knee, or hip hurts after hiking and running, sometimes lower back joins the party after weight lifting. I'm very diligent with my stretching, but I have no idea how to release this f...er! Everything else I always manage to figure out with some time and focus, but this one leg is just stubborn.

I’m 61, I’m very active and do strength training, BJJ, and miles of daily walking. My left hip flexor has been painful for a year now. I’ve tried every stretch on KZbin with no success. I’ll give these a try.

have you had you feet assesses? is there more pronation on our left foot? or is your pelvis somewhat twisted? if it is unilateral pain, I woud investigate how your Femoral head sits in the socket. deep Lateral rotators will be needed in conjunction on how your feet are working... I hope this is helpful

@@therehastobesomethingmoore yes and deep lateral rotators ( think of them as the rotator cuff of your hip) strengthening yes but in proper alignment... if you walk fine for a while and THEN pain starts.. you are looking at biomechanical issue. Look at above and below your hip. foot , knee... any scoliosis... you might have to treat both side slightly differently.

Random question - what kind of shorts are those that can flex and stretch with you? I've never found anything that doesn't feel restricting to even stride in that looks like jeans
