May God raise up more young people who are willing to submit to God and learn the Words of God well so as to preach and teach all willing to learn the truth in the near future.

I think the reason David stayed at home, written in 1Chronicles David fainted in the battle or was weak. His men told him to stay home and they'll fight for him.

Just to clarify: nowhere in the Bible does it state that Saul became jealous of his son, Jonathan. The Bible only tells us that Saul became angry/jealous of David, when the women would sing: “Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands” [1 Samuel 18:7-8], for example.

1 Samuel 10:20-25 It looks like God chose Saul, why did DP here say it was democratic? Any idea?
@marymars28423 жыл бұрын
I just started to read the whole Bible, and I just read 1 Samuel. I think it’s pretty clear that God told Samuel that Saul would be the man before Samuel met him. But sometimes verses in other places of Bible give more details about an event. I will bear in mind with my future reading if it would be true with how Saul was chosen.
@muleyasfamily53993 жыл бұрын
God always gives you a leader you deserve. So you actually choose your leader in a way. So that’s why we pray for his mercy to our countries so that we get a leader he wants for us. So its not democracy kind of but it is because it also is in away. Did you get?

He was trying to relate it to the practice of our time. People (the mass) agreed and God(the authority) approved.

The story of Saul reminds me of Henry VIII, who started off a good king, and became increasingly a self-centred tyrant. The turning point may have been when he fell of his horse and got brain damage, perhaps in the frontal cortex.
@mikepawson3714 жыл бұрын
Samuel were offended for his sake? I, when i read samuel 1:8 he got offended because God was theyr king and they wanted 'visible one' Samuel was old when they asked that for him. They worshipped other gods from time delivered from Egypt as they did same for Samuel. He was angry for God, not for his place on being similair to "other gods"..

Well David must not have been all that great if his own father didn’t even consider him when Samuel came along
@LorraineGrant4 жыл бұрын
This shows that Jesse (David's father) did not recognise that David was Godly, he was more aware of physical strength and age with his sons.
@DarrenandJanLewis4 жыл бұрын
And there is also some circumstantial evidence that David was perhaps Jesse’s illegitimate son as opposed to the other brothers (they make a point to reference a difference in his features more than once, perhaps he was a red head when he is described as “ruddy” and this was not usual for his lineage and Psalm 51:5 for example has David himself declaring there was something amiss with his conception and we know it’s not normally described so for married couples whose “bed is pure and undefiled”) so this may also account for why he was dismissed out of hand and not included in the official roster of the family’s boys and also why his brothers seemed to despise him.

@@Anne.W.M Samuel's father was from Ephrathite (KJV).Which is a place and not a tribe. The NKJV says Ephramite, which is the tribe and is wrong. Samuel is a levite.
