I had a similar experience. I first visited New York in 2005. Stayed at the Times Square Hilton. Just outside the hotel was a foodcart with a long line of people. Did not know what they were selling. Turns out, it was Halal-prepared lamb on a bed of rice and salad. I ordered one, since some classmates of mine suggested that it was delicious. The vendor asked if I wanted white, red, or both sauces. Didn't know the difference. So, I said that I will take both. Took a spoonful of the food. It was very tasty with the cool, refreshing yoghurt sauce. Then the red sauce hit my taste buds. It was freaking HOT!! Did not have a drink to wash down the spiciness. I just reluctantly swallowed the food down my throat. Would do that again if I had to! That spicy red sauce balanced with the cool white was terrific! On a very cold evening in New York, it is the best stuff to have!

Born in South Africa, living in Australia and ate this almost everyday in South Korea! Best falafel wrap I’ve ever had (apologies to my Arab friends) 😋

I was crying with that hot sauce but still don't give up ordering lamb over rice and that defamed sauce. That is addictive I guess...!

I remember going here back in the day every Friday after school and getting 5-6$ platters. Now the prices in the original nyc locations are way too high smh but I still go there once in a while if I’m ever nearby.

@@cleanwaternasenyiuganda8124 they are too bloody expensive. They only cater to their own race here in malaysia.

Would love for them to open one of these stores in Birmingham, UK. Such a large Muslim concentration here. Would love to see what the rest of the world seems to go crazy about. It would definitely do well, there's no doubt about it.

in London try and open up selling to the further education and universities. There is no other market. All the cab drivers are turkish, east european or tamil. Every corner there is gyro kebab shop. There is no major Islamic Taxi driver communitiy. Or if there is they are spread. Become a caterer, you'll do well.

I've had the original stand in NY from the video and to be quite honest with you, yes it's good but in Canada there's tons of Shawarma place that rivals theirs all day every day. Shawarma Palace, Shawarma King etc.

@@ritiksfilms i fully agree with you. Anything in NY is just over hyped. Their deli sandwich, hoboken cakes and this as well. All are over hyped and exaggerated

During my one and only trip to NYC we ran into these guys, stopped for a bite to eat and we weren't disappointed, big portions and very tasty. Their food reminded of New Mexico fare, hot and spicy but without chili peppers.
