I think sm wants to use YG strategy with aespa. But SM should know that BP can use this strategy because they are at the top. I personally LOVE sneakers. It’s so fun and flashy. Had JYPE not catfished everyone with those teaser photos and actually showed them that sneakers was a “fun” royal concept and not a “dark” royal concept beforehand, i feel like people would’ve liked it more.

Chaehyun is really boring and not fit for a center. She is more like a main vocalist who sings the hardest parts. She does not have really much of stage presence, can’t rap and is no where near being the best dancer in Kep1er. A perfect center has to fit the group concept and be well rounded. Like Jungkook is the best center for BTS and he is also a main vocal, but is also one of the best dancer and can rap he also has good stage presence. On top of that Jungkook has well liked visuals and is in the unofficial visual line with Jin and Taehyung. The perfect center for Kep1er would have been Xiaoting who is a good dancer, the visual, can rap and also sing.

I think the reasons skinny shaming is more accepted because it is considered the beauty standards so many consider it out of jealousy and if it’s out of jealousy instead of disgust then you should just take it or whatever, but I still feel this line of thinking is kind of flawed because no matter what intent or reason it comes out of it can still harm a person’s mental health and their perception of themselves, there are ways to say your worries without comparing them to things that might worsen or trigger things.

You hit the nail perfectly with the trainee A opinion. I think it is cruel what hybe did to those guys. I'm not their predebut stan but i did watched some stuff from them. But after their project being cancelled most of the comments i saw were people saying they "disbanded" and how it was heartbreaking. And i can't imagine the way those trainees should've felt discovering after all of these hype they don't even get to debut. All this could've been easily avoided if hybe would've made their content " less idol like". They literally have one million followers. Bruh if you're not even gonna debut don't go out giving people false hope. Like They've been putting out stuff for quite a long time. Also with trainees the chances of fuck ups are very huge.That's why a little bit privacy ain't gonna hurt anyone.

On opinion 2 also I feel like people who say they're concerned they have good intentions but it doesn't translate well in their words because they make assumptions. Trainee A could’ve still debuted if the cancellation was about Leo’s scandal since he left like a few months after it happened so I don’t think that was the reason for the cancellation cause they definitely could’ve bounced back cause they had a strong fanbase and this is kpop and international fans I find are more forgiving to scandals and they were promoted for a western audience so I wonder why the project was cancelled

Totally agree no one should be body shamed in any way, but skinny shaming is not as common as fat shaming. You know how to tell which is worse? Ask anyone whether they'd rather be too skinny or too fat, and you very well know how most people would answer. Skinny shaming has its own challenges that shouldn't be conflated with the challenges of fat people, and it doesn't need to be on the same level to still be a problem. We've had a brief moment in history where skinny thicc was "in" in the west, but being any kind of skinny never really went out of style and skinny people do not experience the same kind of prejudice that fat people do. Fat people lose job opportunities because of their weight and totally unrelated illnesses are blamed on their weight due to medical prejudice, especially in the emergency room. It's to the point that fat people really need to ask their doctors, "How would you treat this condition if I was a thin person?" Skinny shaming is not that different than men's rights activism, while men have their own valid issues caused by masculine toxicity, it's not on the same level of prejudice and discrimination women receive just like skinny shaming doesn't receive the same amount of discrimination.

Skinny shaming is very much downplayed though, matter of fact if somebody writes a comment about an idol gaining weight, most people will come to the idol’s defense, but try to comment about somebody losing weight and looking all skin and bones…most people will not say anything to defend the idol. Skinny shaming is not worse than fat shaming, but it’s definitely not taken as seriously

Damn what’s with cube idols going to the Planer shows, I mean I think his situation is slightly different because the point is more of the fact he already debuted in a relatively somewhat known group, and even if their group isn’t too popular compared to the unknown trainees so he would have a bigger fan base compared to everyone with a head start. And maybe those people are afraid there would be less chances for their fave trainee to get in knowing that Yujin who was in a similar boat as Hui debuted with Kepler. I don’t really think criticisms like that would’ve happened if it were trainee who never debuted but is just older who people did support in Girls planet like Cai Bing. I also had mixed feelings with Yujin debuting for this reason because she already had her chance but it just so happened that it’s not so good, but still she already had her chance to debut, compared to trainees who may never debut or get the chance to unlike her who already had it. Anyways at the end of the day i can see why survival shows would accept participants with a fan base as it brings in viewers so really it is what it is, not everyone get a head start but there’s still a chance to make it without it

to opinion 1: i think kpop stans will never be satisfied and always find something to complain about. yes hui already has a fanbase before the show but if i remember Somi also had a lot of fans before produce 101 BECAUSE she participated in Sixteen too. There are always contesters who are already known to the public even before the program actually airs. My only problem with Sneakers are the concept photos and the MV. Like, why make a fool out of the fans by giving them royal concept photos, but then they hit you with a song that sounds like a commercial? If they had given fun concept photos (like for icy) and made the MV more fun and fresh, then I wouldn't be disappointed. Like this, the songs don't match with the MV and the concept photos, and to me, it's disappointing.

-Soyeon's rap really was that bad. I'm not hating or anything, I don't have any opinion on (G)I-dle outside of enjoying their work on K/DA. Cringey English lyrics are a part of the kpop charm. Many lines from my favorite groups are cringey English lines. But it's usually just a couple words here or a phrase there. Soyeon's was 8 in a row, and absolutely none of it made sense. I also think that directly mentioning TikTok didn't help. -I wouldn't have a problem with Aespa doing Dreams Come True, but Next Level was also a remake of a song SM bought the rights to from a western artist. Their discography is too small to have two of their official tracks be remakes. They need to put out more original content before doing multiple remakes.

..... the difference is most of idols who were fatshamed are not fat......curves doesn't mean overweight, and its not like they go around saying its normal to eat that much and it's a beauty trait....that's what those skinny idols are doing.....dieting heavily, doing some intervention to their bodies to shape them looking skinny when most of people who diet can't have that body goal because they don't do ps......saying that's its natural to look like a skeleton is WRONG....is funny the way you guys are more concerned about the use of words instead of the idea those idols are implanting on young girls that being skinny is a beauty standard....well am not going to praise an overly weight person because it's dangerous for the body...it is deadly and am not going to praise a skinny girl who looks like anorexic because it is deadly. Its not the words that are to blame but the idea that being obese is okay or being anorexic is okay.

The use of words is actually important too because words can hurt people and can scar them for life. You're right when you say that promoting an unhealthy lifestyle is wrong (both when it comes to being too fat or too skinny) but this still doesn't give people the right to be hateful in the way they speak about these idols

Jinni was actually one of the unpopular members. Still I would never think anyone in nmixx would leave because they didn't have much unfairness in the popularity range but jinni wasn't one of the most popular members but rather a member of a popular group.

I was at all the music shows and events, and her PCs were top 4 in the group for being sought after. International fans think their taste is all that matters but the USA and Europe buy less than 10% of the average groups sales, so you really loud but without justification.

@@jisooinyourarea6751 Of course fat people usually have it harder than skinny people, but fat shaming and skinny shaming are equally bad and you just proved my point: when somebody gets fat shamed everyone is so quick to defend them, but when someone gets skinny shamed most people usually downplay the situation (just like you're doing now) and this is why skinny shaming is just as bad as fat shaming, because people don't take it seriously. Also, Liz getting less lines because of her weight gain is so false, just look at the line distribution for Royal... It's crazy to me how some people just make up fake narratives like this only because they don't see an idol always getting the most lines (and i literally ult Liz so i'd be the first to call out mistreatment if there was any)
