when it comes to opinion 7, the only thing I can agree with this topic is that IVE kinda were set to take the title of something that big in such a short time. I mean you had Wonyoung and Yujin in the group, and the music was there, I mean they’re extremely successful. From music show wins, to dasaengs, to brand deals, and more, IVE is really the only girl group in the 4th Gen that I could say were leaders of it within one year of their debut. Most other groups it’s hard to even tell, like I remember back when ITZY had just debuted and everyone immediately called them Monster Rookies and 4th Gen Leaders with just their debut. While yes, the debut was good, slowly you could see their title fade as more groups came in. Now it just seems that every group that debuts is called it. IVE at debut, then it switched to Le Sserafim, then went to New Jeans, and now everyone is claiming New Jeans are the leaders. While yes New Jeans are successful, people were already calling them the leaders when Attention dropped, like one song and already leaders of a generation, how the heck does that make sense.

This is exactly why I don’t think there would ever be a 4th gen leader because of how these groups go viral then sometimes their popularity decreases little by little over time. So many fans move on from one group to another without taking the time to at least listen to the group and wait to see if it’s worth them being the new leaders.

I guess you're right about number 5 but I don't like how important streaming is in K-pop. Even though I'm not a pop fan, whenever I do watch some of their music videos and look in the comments, there isn't any sign of people telling others to stream more or reach a certain number of views. I don't know how people have the time to stream for hours and I still think people could do something more worthwhile in that amount of time. But it's just another way to support their idols and I can't tell people what to do.

My take is that streaming, views, etc. are important but only to a degree. People have warped ideas of what success is. To be successful does NOT equal to be the biggest/best. You don't need 100 million KZbin views to be successful. I've frequently seen people calling groups with 25-50 million views flops - that's just silly talk.

Views now don't actually matter, because almost all companies use ads for their artists and the number of views doesn't correspond to the song's popularity. Some groups get 25M views in one week when they don't have that much popularity (they could have 800K actual views), and their fans say "we did such a good job at streaming". I am not hating, my faves use ads too, but the obsession people and companies have with views is annoying.

Streaming and views are as superficial as the kpop industry honestly. While it’s good for groups to get so many views and whatnot, it still doesn’t equate to them being successful because they could still disband or still be unknown. I liked how in the past, in order to know that you really made it is when people were wanting you to perform for them and people had to actually go and buy (yes ik people still do this but I’m talking about when social media was barely a thing) albums.

I'm ARMY and Twitter ARMY literally caused me to stop stanning BTS for like 6 months because of the constant drama over streaming. I get it's important to an extent. But when you've got stans literally apologizing for not streaming at work because they could get fired for it, or people finding ways to stream during their friend's wedding because they can't take a few hours off from it, etc it's been taken too far. And anytime people bring up how stressful it can be because there's so many rules on HOW to stream and everyone online makes such a massive deal on numbers, everyone jumps all over them and calls them antis for just wanting to listen to the music at their own pace. There's a difference between wanting to help your favs succeed and making stanning a group your entire life. And for bigger groups, I don't think streaming is a important. People are still buying their albums, watching their videos, going to concerts, interacting with their social media accounts. It's the smaller, less established groups that need more help numbers-wise.

for the third opinion, there have been multiple posts on tiktok and twitter from dives saying that they want leeseo to be treated the same way as eunchae is for being a cute maknae. dives are just pointing out the double standards but kpop stans (mostly fearnots) will twist the situation and say that dives wanted eunchae to receive the same hate like no!!!!! we do not???? we will never wish someone as nice as eunchae to receive the same hate leeseo is experiencing. also if you see a positive leeseo vid on tiktok, there's a high chance that you will see a "eunchae better" comment lol

i don’t think there’s a stayc hate train per se, but i think that they’re being overly criticised just because they’re stayc and people find it quirky to claim they don’t like their music anymore. i’m not even a stan but stayc is my fav gg and it feels like people are kinda expecting them to fail so they can keep their “stayc is declining” narrative and it’s soooo frustrating to me lol

The 3rd one!!! I was pointing out how people hate on blackpink for lip syncing a few small parts of their songs during a concert, but excuse Aespa to lip sync their entire concert the other day. Of course stans took that as me wanting hate towards Aespa and I “shouldn’t bring up blackpink”. I stan both groups and wish for improvement from both.

1. i have to disagree with the stayc opinion, i didn’t see the hate back in beautiful monster era and just like you i thought the people claiming there’s a stayc hate train were ridiculous but wow this era i really am starting to see it back in BM era i only saw people saying that the song is boring or not their taste and even before BM like you mentioned people have said that they don’t like their vocals and i never considered that hate either, during staydom era people were saying the mv is cheap, etc… there were always negative comments that i disagreed with but never had an issue with, but this era the comments could pass as hate “stayc flopping” “fell off” “this is garbage” “worst song of the year” and even much worse comments that i don’t want to say, people simply saying that the song isn’t their taste are not a problem but people are getting really brave with their comments about stayc, the members themselves aren’t getting targeted hate but they’re also not just simple negative comments, before teddy bear i would’ve agreed with you but after i saw the comments on their social media this era i have to disagree it’s overwhelming, and it’s funny seeing their music get al that hate while they are getting bigger and more successful with every era like when are people gonna stop saying a group is in their flop era when in reality they just don’t like a song? 2. AGREE !!! you used stayc as an example and i will as well, like i’m a casual stan of most big rookie ggs that debuted in 2022, i was obsessed with anti-fragile but does that mean i dropped my favorite group for the new shiny thing?? newly debuted girl groups will always have a lot of attention and people are allowed to give them that attention if the music appeals to them. stayc i feel has a good combination of a big enough core fandom and public attention they lost some of that attention during BM but their fandom had grown but funnily enough despite a lot of people being so loud about how much they hate teddy bear, stayc has regained some of that attention they had lost. bandwagon stanning has always existed but like not everyone is doing it. 6. for real ! like literally what groups i dislike do isn’t even on my radar, if i don’t like a group i will just not follow them at all and barely know anything about them

ALSO the whole "They haven't made music in SO LONG" when it's only been a year 🙄 excuse me, music and music videos are expensive to make. People don't understand that. Especially for smaller companies. They can't just throw so much money at a group that might not even make it. And for bigger groups, if they release music often, they won't have enough hype built around a comeback. That's why you see TWICE have less views and sales than BLACKPINK in a comeback. Because TWICE makes a lot of music in one year, while BLACKPINK makes an album a year or less.

Opinion six made me think about people who "raise awareness" about groups with minors and rigged shows but proceed to buy EVERY album of the group and promote them like I get that new jeans are AMAZING but I don't I can ever really support them because they're so young and I don't agree that they should be in the kpop industry. The kop industry is DARK and even adults have a hard time there so why should you support minors in the groups and also these minors obviously train at the agencies and these agencies obviously have the trainee work for more than a year or something so most of them have been in the kpop industry at a VERY young age long before they debuted and for the rigged show one if you don't watch it then they can't support it, some peple complain SO much about these rigged shows then proceed to watch EVERY single episode...

Thank you for the band wagon thing. I've seen so many videos essay about how I'm not a real fan of "such and such" or "so and so" and that makes me feel like the minute I dislike a comeback, they're right. For example, I didn't like le sserafim's comeback very much and NMIXX's roller coaster didn't exactly hit imo, and I've been told I'm not a real fearnot or nswer. No 5, kind of agree and disagree. I used to be a 'hard core' fan for a soloist who was only active for 1.5 years before he enlisted. He got fame after redebuting from produce 101 season 2. In one year when i was a fan, I flew from Australia to 3 different countries (including SK) for concerts and fanmeetings. Bought his 2 albums (that's when i stop being a fan) and merchandises. I streamed mvs, joined cafe daum for first time, also voted. In the end, i gave away all my stuff to someone in the fandom gc when i quit being a fan after i found i don't really like his 3rd album and so on. I still casually listen to his releases after that Last year, i joined 2 group chats for 2 fandoms for the first time since that. One gc's admin is starting to annoy me because she forced everyone to vote, mind you not for mama, mma or gda, but for like taa (?), so I dmed telling her that i, in general, dont like to be forced to do anything and she said 'its not like I'm forcing you to do something bad', and I'm like that's not the point, I don't like being forced to. I still voted out of my own will. Now that taa is finished, she went to ask us to vote for another fan voting apps. I chose to not participate at all. I don't even know what that's for. So in short, i don't do those things anymore except for going to concerts. And imo noone should be forced to do something. There are a lot of multifans (although not me) and casual listeners and it's fine. Everyone has their limit 🙂

it should matter it's their job and they need profit ... money more than the budget ... they need money ... however not being number 1 is more for prestige and joyful for idol .. so it shouldn't bother that much but it still matters .. being number 2 or 10 doesn't mean your unsuccessful but having lower sales than your budget is not good

1. I do think gg have more token stan than actual fandom....do they have strong fandoms? No!! Literally they don't!! When there is a cb and fans have to vote gg r always the least voted ones(let put aside bp and twice cause both have proven they do have followers) ....gg nowadays sells million,have huge numbers of stream but the interaction of their content are very low compared to bg.
