Great review UC! This is my most played 1up cab by far. I really enjoy it. Turbo OutRun my personal favorite but I love Outrunners and Rad Rally as well.

I waited as well wanting to get the standup version, but saw it at Walmart for $400 and took the plunge. Glad I did. It’s an awesome cab. For $15 plus a standard 1up riser I turned it into a standup Outrun and love it!

I applied black adhesive craft felt to the inner part of the bench seat wings on my OutRun arcade cabinet so it does not rub against or scratch the sides of the cabinet.

I'm really glad you did this. A lot of A1U reviewers haven't given Outrun much love lately. I ordered the stand-up in January and unfortunately, there's still no word on when they'll be delivered (even though they've been stateside for weeks). But hey, if UC hears anything first, I'm sure you'll let us know. Excellent reviews. Keep doing what you do!

I think people who put a bad review didn’t really play it as a kid this was my favourite game of the 80 s I’ve just got mine I’m so happy with it brings me right back to the 80 s cost lot of money 500 pounds just to get it from America to the uk I had no choice can’t buy this in the uk wish Arcade 1 up would come to the uk

@@UnqualifiedCritics no, they are serious. I see it at 9 minute mark. You got the version with Ferrari logos. Look above the gas guage on speedometer. Should be a little circular orange sticker that when peeled will reveal Ferrari logo. Another on other guage as well. Look closely. For real!

If you wait 2 years I'm sure they will have the outrun legacy edition, with 12 games, and a light up coin door slot, that takes actual quarters that fall into a little plastic bucket inside the machine. BUT if you buy this NOW...then you will have a collector's item, which will be worth 2-3 times the amount of the legacy. Either way, you win!!

You should clear bra the whole sides on the cabinet to protect it from the bench. i did this and the graphics look even nicer

Unqualified Critics, Thanks for another review! My biggest concern after watching a few reviews on this cab were the pedals, specifically the gas pedal. It looks like the piece you put your foot on may break in half at any moment. Maybe not on the sit down version, but stand-up (which is the one I would go for) may not be able to take standing pressure. Do you have any thoughts on this piece? It would really be helpful :) Again, thanks for continuing to make Arcade1up reviews! vgv

I got mine imported from the US to the UK as they most likely won't be selling it here. With shipping an import fees cost me 850usd so would have felt it would a been a bargain at 550 all in. Anyway I've modded this put a cheap dell pc in (you can do a pi too) and will play all racing sega games daytona sega rally crazy taxis 18 wheeler and mario kart wii u so def would recommend doing this will feel like its completely worth the money.

My family loves the outrun cab! We play it all the time! I see you have the “special” version with the small stickers in the instrumentation behind the wheel. Look for little round stickers, if you peel them off the Ferrari logo is under them!

I saw 1 single Outrun cab at a nearby Walmart last week. No other Walmart in 30 mile radius of me had it. I wasn’t searching for it. It was $500. I passed. Thought surely they would have to lower the price to sell it like they did Final Fight. I was dead wrong. It was gone a week later.

i emailed them to make a double dragon (1987) cabinet as well as operation wolf but that would not be possible as those guns used CRTs instead of LCD screens.

Never really had any interest in this cab but none the less, great video Dave! Great job! As far as what you said about the bench being close to the cab itself, I said the same exact thing about the sit down Star Wars cab. Maybe they should have put a couple felt strips on each side of the bench inside to prevent scratches. Have a blessed day brother

@@Shorkshire That's how it was done in the 80s/90s most arcades had stand-up and sit down its not as bad as you think, especially when arcade drivers are meant to be played for like 5-10 minutes at a time.

I Clear bra (Wrapped) the whole sides of the cabinet because i had the same concern as you have, with the sliding in and out of the bench. it made the graphics pop even more cause of the shine of the clear wrap. Just an idea for u.

I fixed the seat and wing issues. For the seat i found a square memory foam seat cushion in the craft department at walmart. I trimmed off about 1 and a half inches around the edges then carefully removed the pleather cover and set in on the existing pad (wich feels like insulation foam) then used a staple gun to reattach the cover, I had to use my knees to compress the faom but it worked, To fix the wings i used some felt squares attached with spray glue. I also bought a set of color matched plastic cap screw hole covers from a guy on ebay who 3d prints different sets for 1up cabs. If you haven't guessed i love my outrun cab. I love this cab, but I ended up modding it with a PC to play Daytona, etc. The wheel potentiometer has not held up great. After 2 months the steering has started becoming a little jittery. Might just need tightening in the back, but it's a potential quality issue.

@@UnqualifiedCritics to be fair I have been quite rough on it since I play more hardcore games like Daytona which require you to steer the wheel a lot more than outrun. I'll see if tightening the screws in the back fixes the issue. Hopefully it does.

Good review, UC. Out Run is one of my favorite racing series, but unfortunately, I’m passing on this. While I can live without link play on this cabinet, I think the biggest omission is wheel force feedback. I felt as if A1UP should have included that feature. It is miss. I wonder if A1UP secures the licensing rights for future Sega titles, will wheel force feedback and link play be included. These features are necessary to get the full experiences back in the day.

Ive been saying outrunners is the best ever and thought it was amazing and the best of the series. Only thing, no one knows about it because it wss never ported to console. It took some tricks to get it working in mame... it cant be linked easily because the og was 2 players that run from a single hardware set.
