My Gun dealer who was born near the factory that these are being made in has inside info that they are in fact within about a year or under from putting out centrefire calibers in their lever actions. They will of course look totally different than the rimfire versions they are putting out now. So they are in the works.

I ordered one the second my gun dealer got word. I've had to keep quiet until now about this bomb drop. I already have a Classic Henry in .22 LR,L,S, and a Henry Golden Boy in .22 WMR...so I bought the large loop Revel in .17 HMR. I have a ton of .17 HMR ammo on hand. I'm going to have some real fun. Next up Savage, make us some centrefire rifle and handgun calibers. I'd love to see an affordable .460 S&W available. I'd buy any reasonable priced lever in that caliber in a millisecond. My ordering mouse click would be so fast that my eyes wouldn't see my finger move.

Nice, "but" (yeah, a couple of buts): 12 round capacity. I'd have hoped for 15 (that's what my Henry (HEN001) has). It's also what my SPEED-D-LOADERS hold :) Threaded / Suppressor - Um, I think you'll hit a hurdle there, you aren't going to get the TUBE open with a suppressor attached. My dream rifle was the Marlin 39A (NINETEEN round tube mag capacity), but (in 2016) they were out of production with no stock available (so I went with the Henry). I don't know if Ruger are going to re-introduce the Marlin 39A, but I doubt anything would be worse than a Remmington made Marlin.

These can't have a threaded barrel because of the inner tube magazine. If there was a suppressor on the end you wouldn't be able to pull the inner brass tube out for loading. Watch the 2:40 mark of this video for why that is.

However, if the Revel series sells well, maybe Savage will come out with a threaded barrel version. Maybe something a bit more modern with a synthetic or laminated stock. Time will tell. Regardless, it's still a cool little rifle.

I have seen this in many younger generations. Why do you remove the tube follower to reload? Slide the follower out far enough to expose the loading hole. Turn the gun over, sights down, with the gun at about a 45 angle and reload. Very simple. I have several tube fed magizines and wa taught how to reload them when I was about 10. Well that was 64 years ago. So it’s OK for me to say younger generation.

I do not like the aluminum receiver BUT it looks attached to the barrel. Rifles like the old Remington Nylon 66 and Henry rimfire lever action receivers were a shell of sheet metal or aluminum that fits over the action. Any scope or Peep sights attached to the receiver shell were not stable. It made it difficult to sight in and maintain zero. I will be looking for the 22 magnum rimfire version. It just may be a winner. I would pay extra for all STEEL. Also a small game /varmit centerfire lever action in 218 bee or 25-20 or modern equivalent would be great.

@@DevinBauer A rimfire suppressor isn't that large in diameter, so it should allow the tube follower to be removed. Also, a rimfire suppressor doesn't get that hot on 22lr, allowing it to be unscrewed very easily.

It has the same cheap design as the other cheap Lever gun which will remain nameless. The lever needs a bump on it so it can bottom out on the lower tang. I hate these new cheap guns that they cut too many corners on. Just between the loop and the trigger guard there should be a hi F spot on the back of that lever so it hits the lower tang when closed. I will not be buying a Savage. Barrels too short also and the mag tube is not long enough due to the short barrel. Total failure in my book.
