Nice set up, very relatable to the average person to have a cost affective way to achieve what you have been able to make. And enjoy the simple pleasures of life, Without putting yourself in debt.

Very well thought out. I love the openness of your camper with all the windows and screens that allows you to really enjoy your outdoor experience.

Thank you!… definitely one of the nice parts of a cargo trailer camper…. I’ve also seen some with the rear door fold down as a deck. Lots of great options.

Whoah! We almost have twinner trailers! :)) Your setup is perfect! I’m feeling inspired by your ideas! The upper cabinets, shower and fridge are now on my list! Nice work! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thanks appreciate it! I really think it’s the perfect size trailer for my little truck or if you had a Jeep. I love the cargo trailer idea and would do it again! Thanks for watching!

Good to see another video. Looks like it came together well. Very well matched trailer and truck. Looking forward to some camping adventures.

Thanks. Yeah it was a lot of fun… not really worrying about the trailer as I pulled it through the mud was nice. I’ve got a few spots that I’m itching to see if I can get into.

Really nice. Love the open look. I get a little claustrophobic looking at some builds, even though I've spent a couple of months in a small, short pickup camper shell. Looking for alternatives now.

Highly recommend a cargo trailer build. You can keep it decently light but nice and warm inside and add any amenities you want. 👌

Really nice job there mate! Definitely like the trailer height, and the shocks are a very good idea.

Happy that everything worked out for you. As with most anything new, it's a learning curve to and trial to find the bugs. You've got some tweaking to do, as you say, looking forward to seeing them.

Your trailer turned out really good. Nicely done. Is there a way of attaching a tarp over your back door to protect from rain and keep the ground dry with your table under the tarp. That’s what I do with my truck. I don’t know how you find these beautiful spots.
@waysoutback3 жыл бұрын
Thanks appreciate it! I like the idea of A tarp/ awning on those back doors... I need some way to lock the rear doors then get that tarp up there. It would sure be nice while it’s raining or snowing. 👍

I subbed. I love your set up. Will be looking into your heating system. A little scared of it. Just measured and we are having a L shaped cushion system. Ours is 5 feet under on inside.
@waysoutback2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t be that worried of the diesel heater. Diesel is not as explosive as propane and all the fuel connections are outside the trailer. Worse case you would get some diesel leaking on the ground. I’d recommend a Good CO detector no matter what system your running. Lots of good systems out there just do your research and talk to as many as you can. 👍

Thankyou! Yes I bet you would in arkansas. We do the majority of our camping in fall winter and spring so far it hasn’t been an issue. Question: With the water 💦 & batteries on the back end, do you still have 10% of the trailers total loaded weight on the hitch?
@waysoutback2 жыл бұрын
Actually it’s a bit closer to 20%. The front rack is quite heavy and then storage box and both propane tanks. What I noticed is with both propane tanks full I can load my blue drinking water containers in the back and drive with no problem. If the propane tanks are empty then the trailer feels a bit squirrelly and I put my blue containers in my shower and it’s locked down. I also pull it with a small light truck so it’s a bit more sensitive.

I have a 6x12 cargo trailer almost identical to yours except for the exterior of mine is white. I’ve been using it for tool storage, but your project has inspired me to begin a conversion project of my own. Do you have a scale drawing of your build? Plan view would be very helpful. I am curious about the measurements of the sink cabinet and if I can avoid it restricting the doorway. I have 24” from the jamb to the front of the trailer…how deep is your cabinet?
@waysoutback2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I don’t have a plan… I just drew it on the floor and then used boxes to make sure it had good space. The sink cabinet is 24” so you should be good even if you made it a bit smaller the sink fits in there nice. 👌 I’d say from the front of my trailer to the opening is only about 12”

I enjoyed watching your video as you got right to the point! Although my trailer is 8x16 I always look for ideas from videos like yours! BTW, did you flip your axles? ROSKO
@waysoutback2 жыл бұрын
Thanks appreciate the feedback! Yeah I flipped the axle to below the springs at the same time I added some shocks. Next step is some bigger tires. 👍😁 Here’s a link to the axle video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnrGh3aKfalqqdk

Good buildout on the C.T. Camper could you post size ? And also how you did the shocks
@waysoutback3 жыл бұрын
The trailer is a 6x10 so it’s a bit smaller but It’s definitely easier to pull through the mud. Last time I actually got stuck but I could unhook the trailer and a few of us pushed it by hand. Got the truck out then pulled the trailer out…. Nice and lite. Here’s the link to the shocks video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnrGh3aKfalqqdk

I would like to know where your shower drains to… a grey water tank or directly to ground from trailer?
@waysoutback2 жыл бұрын
As of now I just use one of those portable grey water tanks on wheels…. I’m planning on a more permanent install but it works till then.
@vagari8893 жыл бұрын
How are you getting so much ground clearance? Straight axle, flipped axle, shocks, wheels, combination?
@waysoutback3 жыл бұрын
I actually so far have just mounted the springs on the top side of the axle, if you take a look through my videos you can find the one that explains it. The next step for me will be bigger tires that are a bit wider. I’m hoping that will help with the ruts and rocks. Thanks for watching.

Need to know costs of trailer + mods to compare it to factory trailers with mods done.
@waysoutback2 жыл бұрын
Well I did mine quite cheap…. I’ll have to do a full price breakdown video sometime but roughly I’d say not counting the trailer I spent 4K on it……… But to compare the two is like comparing my truck with my car…… each I think has its place…. Basically what do you want to do with it? I don’t think you could find me a 6x10 trailer with over 21” ground clearance with heater, hot water, shower, 12v fridge, kitchen inside, over 300watts of solar weighing in just over 2000lbs. Now if your touring around… I think there is definitely something to be said about just buying a pre made rv but if it was me it would have to be a Casita… etc something that’s quality build no wood framing, fibreglass shell, light, etc, etc. From what I saw those are not cheap.
@johnbreckenridge90592 жыл бұрын
How much does your loaded trailer weigh? I’m currently building one also trying to pull it with a Ranger…
@waysoutback2 жыл бұрын
2200lbs But that’s two full propane tanks, full water tank and the four 6v batteries. The ranger pulls it quite well but I wouldn’t want it any heavier
@pjf79433 жыл бұрын
Your fridge venting is absurdly small. Use grills instead of button vents, whatever you take in, you must be able to push out.. While I do like your build, and understand your frugality, whatever you think you are saving by penny pinching, will cost you three times more later in $'s, time and material to correct and that's money wasted.
@waysoutback3 жыл бұрын
Yeah you got it… I’m not super concerned with the money if it keeps my fridge happy. I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit since I’ve last been out and made that video. I do 80% of my camping in cool or freezing weather so I’d like to direct the heat from my fridge into my water tank storage area. Help kill two birds with one stone…. At the same time I don’t want to cook my fridge. I think I will have to use a computer fan to move the air in the direction I want accompanying some grills on the shower side. Appreciate the input though
