I initially subscribed to your channel because of the Beatles reaction, and enjoyed them massively. But while that's the reason I came onboard, I stayed because of your own talent: I listen to your original music regularly, and rewatch your reaction videos less for the reactions themselves, and more for the insights you share into song structure and music theory. I LOVE the idea of KZbin musicals!

Hey Caroline - I was one of the folks that closely followed your Beatles albums personal assessment/reaction videos because, as a first generation Beatles fan, it was very interesting for me to see how much (or if) a younger person would "absorb" Beatles music. BTW, your final video of listening to the Abbey Road album is a classic - I've passed it on to many Beatles fans and non-fans, all to positive reviews! Your reactions to Abbey Road were so heartfelt and enthusiastic ... thank you for that! Anyhow, when you were struggling to arrive at an answer to the question, "where do I go from here?", after that Abbey Road video, and, folks were suggesting that you continue on to tackle the solo Beatles releases --- while I would have enjoyed such videos --- I was also saying to my PC screen (to you), "DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! GO WHEREVER *YOU* WANT TO GO!!" I'm happy that you've found a new direction! You gotta do whatever turns *YOU* on! Have fun!!!! 🙂Mike

The Beatles series was so great because it was a deep dive, Still hoping you'll do a deep dive into Led Zeppelin. They were as good as the Beatles and also changed music. Maybe do one album per month? And maybe dive a little into the story of each album and tell us about it. Also given how you evolve: Look into Patti Smith

One argument about YOUR reaction videos: you often 'played along' and displayed an understanding what composers were doing. Since you're a composer as well, I LOVED the idea of sitting over your shoulder and 'being a part' of hearing your new compositions. "Oh - so THIS is the result from her listening to this or that..." The phrase "You wouldn't you love to be a fly-on-the-wall during those sessions?" And you, Caroline, were providing us with that chance. And unlike Dudley Moore's need to PHHTTTT himself out of Peter Cook's small Hell versions (BEDAZZLED, 1967), we could watch all the way!

While you may lose some old viewers, you will of course gain new ones. And people, in general, are too lazy to unsubscribe from content by people they like--even if the content changes. So you will likely bring along many who subscribed for one thing originally but are getting something else now. However, there is no law that says between mythological musicals, that you can't react to, say, Paul McCartney's solo albums! What is fantastic about your "reaction" videos is that you have this deeply intuitive sense of music, and you are hearing things in one listen that hardcore fans haven't heard or noticed or thought about in a thousand plays. That comes naturally to you, so it is understandable why you would dismiss it. Other takes on music, while perhaps more "educated", are also more condescending, snobbish, arrogant, etc., and second-hand commentary based more on what they have read than on what they have heard once and are reacting to spontaneously...You are one of only three people (or channels) I watch regularly: Call Me Caroline, The Vinyl Geek (also a huge Beatles fan), and Popcorn in Bed. All three are very likable, sincere, intelligent, well-informed (well-researched, well-produced), intuitive, and spontaneous. Why not do both? Recharge your batteries between mythological musicals with "reaction" videos. If not solo McCartney, Lennon, Harrison, and Starr, then how about Kate Bush, Cat Power, Waxahatchee, The Smiths, The Cure, the three Elvis Presley box sets by decade: The King of Rock and Roll, From Nashville to Memphis, and Walk a Mile in My Shoes? Endless possibilities there...When director Alfred Hitchcock felt his batteries running low, he filmed a hit play. (Much easier than adapting a book or working on an original screenplay.) And you can keep the interest of old followers while you gain new ones. If your new content isn't my cup of tea, then it doesn't mean that I'm not going to share it with someone who I think will love it. (As I did with all of your first-listen Beatles videos.) In fact, I may start a channel where I react to your new content. Look out! In any event, Continued Success. To quote Joni Mitchell, "love is mythical."

Hi, Caroline. Sure, I came for the Beatles reactions and stayed because of your winning personality. But, the Beatles aren't making any more music. And, after you've done the catalog, well...what now? I think you've answered that question. Congratulations and good luck on the new direction. You are very bright & creative - I would love to see analysis videos on why certain songs are compelling - the role of repetition, the role of complexity, rhythms - certain rhythms work better ... and songs vs production vs performance. Thanks for your reactions to Beatles albums. I'm a huge Beatles fan and musician also. Your melodic sense and sense of music theory is excellent! I love your analyses from that perspective also. Your new direction is cool in a good way. I will check those stories out. If you decide further down the road to delve back into legendary music - I would love to see a Rolling Stones analysis of their albums during the Beatle years & maybe a Beatles vs. Stones. I love them both but have bias toward the Beatles. Anyway, just a thought. Best of luck & best regards doing the Mythology stories - I love those too. It will be great to see the differences between Disney-esque and presentations closer to the originals! Thanks again, BT

I don’t know if it would be up your alley, but I’m rereading CS Lewis’s space trilogy for the first time in 20 years and it’s really having a big impact on me. If you’re looking for me content, it might be worth checking out. In regards to the clip you showed, I felt a dichotomy between the goofy animation and the serious music. You may see it with different eyes or have a different meaning in mind, but if you’re feeling out the waters, I couldn’t not say it.

I'm so glad to hear that you're doing well Caroline and returning to KZbin, albeit with a different kind of content. Although in the past some of your videos were of original music that you composed, not just your songs but attempts at video game and Star Wars soundtracks, which were quite interesting. So this isn't entirely new but more of a change in focus from reaction videos to original content videos. I do though wish that you'd have posted a video or something in the community page much earlier to the effect that you were fine and just taking a break from KZbin, so people didn't worry and weren't left hanging and wonderinig. It did appear though in your last few videos that you were kind of burnt out and needed a well-deserved rest. Reaction videos are also kind of played out. During the height of the pandemic when people were looking for entertaining distractions and things to do they were quite popular, but like the ice bucket challenge (and hopefully torn jeans!), they're getting to be kind of boring and repetitive. So I can understand your desire to move on from them (although of course many of us had hoped for more of them from you since yours were so much fun to watch, and perhaps now and then you might still put out a few--no pressure of course but they are a bit like the chorus in Greek plays, reacting to the action.). As others have remarked you have a lovely and engaging screen presence and personality that suits the presenter on camera video format, regardless of the content (as opposed to those of us who as the old joke goes have faces for radio and voices for the silent screen), so I'm sure that you'll find your audience with this new format and content. I'll certainly check them out. Also, I wonder if you could get some of your work colleagues to help you put together the visuals of your videos, since this is right up their alley, or maybe even collaborate with one or two of them? Once again, welcome back and best of luck with this new KZbin venture!
