Clever and simple fix. This should definitely be something addressed by the manufacturer, or at least an instruction from the manufacturer, as most drummers would be expected to make this relatively easy adjustment. Nice follow up!

I just got one of these a few days ago, and the one I got appears to have some improvements. The center is now a much harder plastic or rubber (similar to Roland) than the floppy rubber yours appears to have, and the metal anti rotation stopper is also now basically the same size as the plastic ones that come with most e-cymbals. I had to use a Dremel and a sanding band to widen the top of it, though, because my hi hat clutch (Gibraltar 5707) wouldn’t fit all the way through. I also initially tried your hack to bypass the stopper issue, but the cymbal would still rotate no matter how tight I made it. But all seems well now, and I appreciate your review. Just an FYI for anyone else that might get one, and run into the same issue.

Hi, just tried using this lemon cymbal as my hihat together with the vh11 controller. But I don’t know why I cannot calibrate the hi hat successfully. Seems like no matter how much I rotate the dialer in the clutch the ▶️◀️ just won’t appear. I am not sure if it’s the controller or the cymbal pad is the problem. Would you be able to help me?
@amberwolf803 ай бұрын
@jaem072489 they should be compatible. Did you make sure there’s a slight gap between the bottom of the cymbal, and the plunger of the controller? Roughly 3mm or 1/10 of an inch should do it. You can play with the gap until you hit the sweet spot. I also put a piece of cymbal felt between the two just to cut down on noise, and so the bottom of the cymbal isn’t smacking directly into the plastic of the controller plunger.

Hi! The fix works perfectly. What module are you using with this? I’m looking at buying a Roland TD17 but I’m worried I won’t be able to calibrate the Lemon hihat? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

@@myfavoritedrumgear Did you do it manually? The Roland videos always show using the offset calibration knob/tightener

That’s a great fix. I’ll have to remember that. Or just watch the video again if I get this hi hat, I don’t know which one they’re going to ship me….lol

What hihat stand/clutch are you using? I’m looking at buying this Lemon hihat and need a new stand anyway. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the review it was very informative. I have a question if you don't mind. My snake on my TD-17 only has one hi hat jack, where did the second jack come from to connect both cymbal and the sensor. Thanks in advance!
@myfavoritedrumgear Жыл бұрын
You should have one Jack that plugs into the hi hat pads and another that plugs into your hi hat foot pedal. The hi hat pad Jack goes into the pad and the foot pedal Jack plugs into the sensor.

Could you make a video showing what it's like inside the controller.. I'm curious to know what it's like inside.. until today I haven't found anyone on KZbin showing what the lemon controller is like
@myfavoritedrumgear2 жыл бұрын
Are you just curious about it functions, or do you want to see how it’s wired and what it looks like disassembled?

lemon have come out with an upgraded two piece hihat. Im thinking about getting a whole kit from them and then getting a mimic pro or edrumin. The two piece hihat might have sealed the deal.

May I ask? Are you still using this hi hat? Does it still work good? I’m about to purchase an ekit. I’m between the the td17kv2 and kvx2. If I get the kv2 I would upgrade later on to this hi hat but wanted to know if it’s durable. Thanks.
@myfavoritedrumgear Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question and thanks for watching! I’m not currently using the this hi-hat. I have a TD17kv2 at my rehearsal space, and I’m using Lemon’s 2 piece hi hat for that kit. I have a video about dialing that in to the TD17 that should be helpful. At home, I have a used kvx2, and I’m using Roland’s hi hat because I change the configuration a lot and it’s easier to quickly dial in. If price were not an issue, I would rank them as Roland, then the 2 piece Lemon, then the one on this review. If you’re on a budget (like most of us), I would recommend the Lemon 2 piece over the Roland. Good luck- please let me know if I can be helpful!
