@@greypossum1 I looked it up and you are right. The funny thing is that Jodi and Debra bear a strong resemblance to each other.

Danny Kortchmar was guitarist on the original and toured with JB as well. On this concert Korthchmar was playing with James Taylor who followed JB that night. Also Leland Sklar played bass on the original and also was playing with James Taylors band this concert. Russ Kunkel the drummer played for both JB and JT that night...What a gig. ....Possibly Billy Payne on organ?

Rosemary Butler singing backup. Great singer in her own right with an impressive resume of singing with a long list of great artists.

You can feel the up-tempo energy filling the arena. David Lindley could play anything with strings, Rosie had such a great voice, more females in that group than usual and they were all excellent. What fun that must have been to be there. I would love to go back in time and do it all over again. I saw Jackson in 78 during the ROE tour with David and Rosie in the band. Again in 2004 at a fundraiser with Bonnie R., the concerts back then were a good 2 hours at least and tickets were not expensive. I love all of his music, in the early days hearing him on my car radio and buying tickets either at the radio station or the venue of the concert. Of course no internet then, nothing but mostly radios and albums. I kind of miss the simplicity of that.

Do we have even one band now ... much less of this caliber? How privileged we were to have had so many talented musicians whose music gave us so many indelible memories.

When this song was released, it was a smash hit. Now, more than 40 years later, like most of Jackson Brownes music, it doesn't grow old. Like a fine wine, if anything, it only improves with age. 😁👍🍺

Can anybody list the players in this video? I stumbled on this live version a couple of months ago and I just can't stop watching and listening. I'm mesmerized by it. It makes me a little bit sad too because I see all of these talented young peoplemaking masterpieces with musical instruments and I know there is nobody taking their place for the next generation.

this song came out about same time as I enter college and start my independence and journey through life. Below verse really resonate... '65, I was 17 and running up 101 I don't know where I'm running now, I'm just running on '69, I was 21 and I called the road my own I don't know when that road turned into the road I'm on I don't know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels Look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through Looking into their eyes, I see them running too

I have a personal attraction to this song. I was travelling west from deep southern Saskatchewan to deep southern Alberta on a September Sunday. There are no gas stations. I had some extra gas in a jerry can but decided to chance it. I played this song on my sound system

This song came late in '79 because it really was the anthem of my Boomer generation. We were idealistic, rebellious, and our music guided us. Greatest time to have been young.
