I loved the "don't bang your weights together" comment! Good one! I so agree. It is so obnoxious when people slam their weights together. Also, you are right that we should be in more control of our movements.

My shoulders are well warmed up now. No heart-pumping workout but a flexible movement with a fair bit of weight. Just the stretches make you realize how minimal we move these areas which make them prone to injury. Thank you

Thanks for this Dan and Kelly. Ever since the pandemic hit, you guys have been my go-to source for keeping an exercise routine going! MUCH appreciated!

is it better for your shoulders to have a natural arch in your lower back when lifting weights?

Hey Daniel, if I don't have a bench, can I use an exercise ball instead? Love you and Kellie's videos by the way. My girlfriend and I follow them and workout together regularly! One love from Hong Kong.

I've used an exercise ball...a lot...I wouldn't go max or anywhere near max, though, but that's just me (what the ball fails, you know? OMG). In fact, it feels good on my upper back. Just watch out because if you go fast you'll rebound at the bottom and get an assisted lift on the way up... pointless. Slow and meticulous on a bouncy ball. Good for core and balance, too. I would do weight for a range of 10 - 15 reps on a ball. Not great for mass...being female you're probably not interested in mass. I've also used my bed since it gives a little more for when my elbows touch... but you're not going to get full range of motion.

My chest and triceps feel swole. I did 12-8-8 except for the dips which I did 8 reps. Workout complete 13.01.2018 - 4.17am #FBMass

Is it true that muscle shows in different ways on people? Because a few years ago in my senior-level gym class, the instructor was saying something like that in regards to weight. He said that he could lift all the weight he wants, but given his really thin and lankier overall frame, he wouldn't look like John Cena or anything, though he would gain muscle mass. What is the validity of that if there is any at all, I am curious if you know.

I feel like I can't really do these workouts properly because I don't have those super easily-adjustable weights you guys have. So I'm kind of stuck with one set of the same weight throughout, which limits me in certain exercises. Adjusting my dumbbells between exercises will take too long because theyre just regular old-school weights you gotta screw on and off. Would love the ones you use but theyre so expensive!

Incidentally, I have Golds Olympic plates that have handles... I thought they were cheesy at first but I don't need to use bars (although they're only 5's, 10's, 15's, 25's and 45's, nothing in between). If you have the plates with the smaller inch - inch and a half holes you could probably pick up extra bars and collars at used sports shop for pretty cheap and set them up before your wo. You just have to find a way if money's tight. I've used stones, buckets, concrete blocks, whatever lol. If you have toddlers you can use them, too. Mine loves it.

I've been told stretching before doing a workout could actually result in injury. Anyone else heard this? They only recommended stretching before you go to sleep, since that's when your body releases growth hormones, for maximum growth.
@fitnessblender10 жыл бұрын
It's true that you don't want to stretch before a workout but it pertains to static stretches (especially for stretches held for more than 20-30 seconds). The fluid movements you see in this video before the actual routine are only warm up movements, not stretching, because it would put you at risk if you were doing it before a lifting workout.
