UPR Catch Can Oil Dump Update

Just got my first oil change done. Here's how much oil is being caught in between oil changes. Is it worth it? You decide! :)

Catch cans are a great idea if you only have a Direct Injection system. Starting in 2017, the 2nd Gen 3.5l Ecoboost (used on the 2017 Raptor) has dual injection (multi-port (MPI) & direct injection (DI)). Allegedly, combining of the MPI with DI will mitigates/avoids the problem of intake valve contamination. If you have only DI, the contamination will vary on vehicle usage, demand, etc.

If I understand there fix is 2 injectors, one is now above intake valve to rinse back side of intake valve with fuel and detergent. Fixing some of the carbon build up problem by being rinsed with fuel like older injection engines that weren’t direct injection.

2016 3.5eb yes. I think you can see the clean side separator on the other video. It's really small so it's easy to miss

Catch cans that alter internal engine pressure can void the warranty. Just an FYI.

Very. I have a piece of hose going down past the frame that I can drain into the ol Lysol bottle

Seems car manufacturers don't want to improve pcv systems...might stop people buying new cars
