To answer your question, anything that looks like old footage in sabaton history episodes is genuine old footage, none of it is AI or modern filming edited to look old. Sometimes it might not be the EXACT battle or person that they're talking about if there isn't any footage of that event, but they will always get as close as possible. For example, if there hadn't been any footage from the Warsaw uprising, then they probably would have used footage of german soldiers from elsewhere in Poland during WW2. The closest I've seen to manipulation from them is when they blew an old photo up to be bigger and had the image we're watching focus on a small area and then pan across to add a sense of movement to a still picture. I think they might have added smoke or rain effect as a layer over a still photo once or twice as well but again that's just to keep viewers engaged, they never create something and try to pass it off as genuine.

I don't think (or at least I don't hope) that anyone would ever make fun of people who are trying to broading their horizon by doing their own research. On the contrary I really hope that people will take their hats of in respect for you or anyone trying to educate yourself no matter if its on this topic or any other topic really, no matter if its History related or not. Warsaw(Warszawa in Polish) our capitol city was occupied by Germans for almost 6 years. We were murdered there every single day. We started uprising because we didnt want to be freed by Russians, once Russian army enters your country then they never leave. For us WW2 ended in 1989. I was born in 1982 and even before I was born when was still in the womb I was beaten by russian soldier, he didnt like the fact that my pregnant mother went to church.

Good on you, learning history really is importent, so sad that your school didn't get that it something positive with educating people about the world. Sabaton really wanted Peter Stormare (he is swedish) to play the bad guy but it almost didn't happen due to travel problems, luckily it worked out.

Cheers from Sweden im new here. I gotta say hearing that you guys in US dont get to learn history is crazy. Here in Europe history has always been important and we learned alot about other nations me personally love american history too. History is important because then you understand different kind of politics and ideologies throughout history.

I remember my son playing first shooter video games and letting me know that he thought how cool ot was. I couldn't change his mind. He was probably 13 or 14. So I thought ok, you will now watch the movie Saving Private Ryan. At least the beginning. He changed his tune in a heartbeat.

Allied pilots treated the obligation to fly to Russia as a flight over hostile territory. Because Russian anti-aircraft defense treated them like Germans. Russian planes did the same. Allied pilots, if they were unlucky and had to land in Russia, were immediately arrested and brutally interrogated. Many never returned from Russian prisons.

Look up timeghost, they try giving unbiased facts about ww1, intervwar years and depression, ww2 with a bit postbwar and first partbof korea this far.
