Pot bound plants should have their encircling roots sliced through to promote healthy new roots. If the plants don't thrive, you may want to dig them up, slice the roots and replant in much larger uncompacted soil holes.
@mytube09695 ай бұрын
I recall hearing that the hole should be double the size of the root ball. And fill with better soil &/or compost. 😉

Yes Ed, the Doublefile (Spicebush) viburnum will grow 6 ft tall and 6/8 foot wide if unpruned. You should always water in all plants (trees and shrubs) so they settle into their new growing environment.
@kenc18005 ай бұрын
Where is your garden hose nozzle? Viburnum are VERY forgiving of soil types as long as it “well drained”. Warning however! Spicebush (snowball) Viburnum are being destroyed by Viburnum leaf beetles here in USA.

Everyone appeared to be enjoy working as a team to plant the shrubbery. Watching it reminded me of planting 24 crepe myrtle bushes along the drive to our house about 10 years ago. We also experienced surprise at what we'd encounter just beneath the grass as we love in an area that was once an alluvial landscape thousands of years ago, so there were layers of gravel and larger stones, below that was sand layers. But the plants grew and we now have a beautiful line of pink lining the drive during the summer. I was wondering if there were any small trees or large shrubs that could be used to lighten the dark area under the trees at the far end of the yard. Here we have the native Dogwood trees planted along the treeline which provide swathes of white in the spring. White, pale pinks, etc.. plants & trees that are showy from spring through fall. Even dwarf and small growing Japanese Maples would provide splashes of color and testure in that area.
