So, the net effect of collaboration between the US and India in arms manufacturing is that the average price of these arms would increase within India. If India is deterred from manufacturing its own version of these arms, is that not going to negatively affect India's export potential for similar arms? Just a thought.

@@manannaik1341 This is rather basic. There is high priced US labour involved in the design of these arms. There will also be high priced US labour involved in the manufacturing process in various aspects. If India designed similar equipment and manufacture them, the price would be much lower. Very smart strategy from US. If US makes arms in India, and then exports it to countries like Ukraine, India would inadvertently take side in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and come off as supplying arms to Ukraine. This would be true of any future conflict between any nations. This move, in effect, would make India's geopolitical strategy US centric, rather than the indepedent strategy India has always pursued. If US wants deeper ties with India, why is it not signing semiconductor manufacturing deals with India, something Biden did with Vietnam after G20, and something that India has been rigorously pursuing?

Interesting to see Firstpost now reporting on Modi acting on realization of both a Higher Value in Quad Alliance, and Lesser Value Alliance with BRICS, (which was extremely unliely to succeed to begin with, considering contentious India/China relations). 'No Marriage is Perfect'. 'History is 'What It Is'. Big Picture: In light of current geopolitical situation, seems India/US (QUAD) relationship, overall, has a far greater likelihood of success than India's unquestionably very well intended, yet perhaps wishful thinking, than BRICS. Looking forward to seeing this alliance strenghten. Hopefully, ultimately, helping to maintain peaceful stability in a the region. 🙏

Based on the identified prerequisites for the End of the Bretton Woods system and according to the trends in the development of the global economy, the United States must now reorient markets from Europe to Asia to save its economic system. The need is determined by the weakness of Europe, the growing independence of the Middle East and the need to save the dollar. For this reorientation, it is necessary to create economic points of influence in Asia: in Vietnam and, as can be seen, in India. In this case, the tensions that arise (for example, between India and China) will even benefit the United States. The states will try to play the “national pride” card with India (towards China and the Great Britain), and it will be good if the tension remains only in economic fields. The United States itself is unlikely to enter into direct military confrontation with China; rather, US will try to put pressure on it economically through its neighbors. There will be a thousand and one situations with the “last Chinese warning”: China cannot exert direct pressure on the United States. But for India... China can become an even tougher neighbor

Americans did interfere in Kargil War and forced Pakistan to withdraw from the remaining peaks it had as on 4th July 1999. Americans then forced Pakistani side to agree for an unconditional withdrawal. But, I am sorry if you lost your father.
