The Surgeon General needs to get his facts straight. There is NO such thing as GUN violence. What it ACTURALLY is, and what it needs to be called, in CRIMINAL violence. Get the gang members, the drug dealer, the individual homicidal criminal, off the streets and into prison, there would barely be any "so called" gun crime.

According to studies from John Hopkins, deaths due to medical error annually in the US are between 250,000 to 800,000. I'll start listening to the surgeon general about firearms (~48,000 death annually with half being suicides, which will still occur whether firearms are available or not), something in which he has no expertise, when he's solved the medical error problem. I note he did not mention the use of firearms in self defense (estimates range from 1 million to 3 million cases annually) and the prevention of serious bodily harm as a result.
