The concept behind the American MREs are to give energy to soldiers who are actively moving around in the field for weeks on end. Its made to where one or 2 meals should be enough to meet daily nutritional values. Its also meant to boost energy instead of sapping them like certain meals do. Another benefit is MREs are made to prevent soldiers from having the runs. If a soldier got the runs in the field, its probably from the hot a's because MREs have the opposite effect sometimes making you constipated.

As a Canadian CF member who has consumed many IMP's, the meal you chose for breakfast breakfast was good. However after that you chose two dinner entrees. Lunch is where it's at, you almost always get a Chocolate bar, such as Coffee Crisp, full sized. Sometimes Jersey milk, depending on the meal. Usually any of the Pasta dishes are where the safe bets are. I have eaten American MRE's before as well, they are good, generally I like them as a change of pace. Just My thoughts.

Why are people taking this video so offensively? Stop being so overly sensitive over something meant for entertainment. How is this offensive..? This video is literally about how the food tastes it's not an actual representation of which country is better... On the side note of that , taste wise, I bet they're all delicious/edible. But to be honest, the Canadian MRE in THIS video did show more actual food over liquidy slop and "imitation" pork. If this really WAS a representation of all MRE's for both countries' soldiers, why would fellow U.S. citizens be mad at this video, when your country made these MREs. If it was the other way around, U.S. comments would say things like "canada sucks, our MRE's are better with real food, and delicious side dishes". Everyone just gotta relax...

You got to admit that Canadian stuff looked much better. I can't comment on the taste but just looking at it, the food looked higher quality with big chunks of savory meat etc. I think the fact he declared it a tie was actually pandering a bit to the US viewers in that desert is not anywhere near as important as the main course and weighing them evenly like that in order to make it a tie was probably a bit of a cop out because he didn't want to piss anyone off by declaring the US the loser. I'm from the USA for the record, not that it really matters.

Hope Marsh the reason the United States MRES are trash is because they have over 1 million enlisted personnel which is way larger then Canada's so obviously the US is going to spend less on food and spend more on stuff such as protective equipment and rifles because after all it costs 15 grand to put a infantry man on the ground to fight for the US so they aren't going to spend much on MRES which will be a every day thing whereas equipment will be needed once for one soldier

First of all only sniper shot at 800m of range. Real combats are done under 200m of range that why we give soldier assault rifle and not fucking long range sniper. Secondly why are you talking about untrained ennemy soldier...and third yeah i mean if your brother in arm die in your arm with his guts all over you it probably doesn't affectec your moral at all no... really men stop playing COD and learn how real war and combat happen....
@criticallofi30546 жыл бұрын
I also gess that the fatigue, being away from your family seeing dead rotten body and everything doesn't affect moral at all no and the only moment you can rest is during your meal so yeah meal taste are important for moral. War isn't fun and all color full war is hell .

I suggest spicy penne pasta one or vegetarian lasagna. Usually the vegi ones come with more goodies.

Bobby Paluga most of us in the field simply break up the bread a little at a time and toss it into the entree then eat both with a spoon. The bread absorbs all the moisture and flavor. Also only putting in a little at a time means it doesn’t even overly soggy and texture is preserved. I never ever saw anyone make a sloppy joe sandwich successfully without a different bun being used than what comes in that mre. With that said there is a lot of horse trading between soldiers & mre’s. I’ve traded a burger bun or a gorilla cookie many times.
