Hi my dad appeared in the Mumbai embassy for non immigrant B2 visa in October 2019 (more than 6 months), he was given 221g and asked to submit additional documents via the form DS5535 . We submitted his form within 2 days and his case is still pending. Few months ago from march the status of administrative processing changed to refused. However it was written on the website that the applicants whose status previously displayed same as AP is now displayed as refused. What do you think is the case? Is it still under AP or rejected? Is Refused different than denied? Also if refused means denied when can we reapply? Or if it is not denied than how long we should wait?

By cancelled so you mean that administrative processing is over and the case has been closed? If yes , then you can apply again for the visa. This is not a permanent denial. However I would recommend understanding the reason for being in AP before applying again.

Greetings, On January 11, 2023, I applied for a B1 visa. However, I received a Blue slip 221g as my master's subject falls under TAL (Technology Alert List). On February 1st, 2023, I submitted the documents requested by the authorities. On March 2nd, 2023, my visa status changed from Refused to Administrative Processing. Hi Ms Sachi! I hope you can enlighten me in our situation, we have applied for an emergency appointment for B1/B2 due to death of my father. who was a US Citizen. Our reason is I will bring home the URN of my father as it was his last request to be buried here in the Philippines. I do have all the essential documents to support my request. Timeline Aug 27 - Application Accepted Aug 31 - US COnsul Interview at the US Embassy no essential documents asked. - US Consul kept our passport , no paper given and advise to wait our visa 3 to 7 days Have checked the CEAC status shows Aug 31- Administrative Processing SEpt 02 - Application Received SEpt 07 - Refused Then we received our passports via courier Sept 9, 2021 NO US VISA STAMPING BUT with color green slip 221G letter dated SEpt 02, 2021. It said that we need to appear for an interview at 8AM on Sept 20, 2021 ( FYI this will be our 2nd interview). I did call the call center to confirm our appointment for Sept 20, 2021, accordingly no confirmation? This gives us confusion about what went wrong? Hoping to hear from you. Thank you.

The consular officer said to me that everything was fine and kept my passport saying that they had to put me in administrative procedures, what does this mean? IR1, Egypt and he gave me a paper marking on administrative processing only!! (Nothing was missing)

Hello, I was appeared for F1 visa interview (and F2 with two dependents) on 7th, Dec 2019. My visa was approved at the time of interview and VO kept my passports. On the same day, I was requested some documents. I sent the required documents on 10, Dec 2019. On checking my status on CAEC my visa was shown refused. I waited for around 1 month and I sent my documents again (I was confused that either they had received my documents or not). Still, I am waiting my visa application to be resolved. I have started to take my classes online. I have good educational profile but I am confused why this has happened with me? Anyone passed with same situation; visa approved and then in AP? Regards,
