Checked my Status and it’s currently ‘Refused’. Talk about having anxiety! Lol. I have no idea as to why it’s under ‘Refused’.

Good afternoon. Thank you fir posting this video. My husband received 221g blue slip at embassy in juarez Mexico on 19th of November. Additional documents they requested were delivered on 29th of November. Case online updated on December 2nd to refused. Made call today to numbers on 221g slip...they confirmed documents are there, but havent been opened. In your experience how long before they will even review this new information. Thank you

On december 1st we did our interview of EB3 visa and the officer asked a lot of questions, asked the agreement of the company that help us with all the documentation (not the employer, with the employer we did not have any agreement), we gave to her the agreemente and she said: I need more time to verify your case. We are very sad but with hope that all the tings will be solved. But she did not asked for more documents, only gave to us the 221g. Do you know if in the most os the cases the visa is aproved or denied?

i get applied to j-1 visa after appointment, the Embassy take my passport then ask me to send some documentation by email, then sent it finally they return me back passport and DS-2019 to me and send Email your application is still undergoing mandatory administrative processing. There is no way to speed this up, however we thank you for your patience. You should continue checking the status of your application through our email periodically. time of appointment on 2 of November 2021

Hello, I went to the ambassy of Paris, France on july 25th for a J1 visa and the officer kept my passport. But it is in AP since, I have no idea of what could have blocked my visa from being issued since the officer didn’t say anything about AP and I didn’t received any emails. Hi, thank you for the helpful information. We had our USCIS interview last year in a second country as refuge and are currently waiting for an update on our restatement to the US. Since our interview, we haven't received any updates and our case is currently in the Administrative Action process as we requested the RSC. 1- Do you think they might reject us if we don't receive any news? 2- Our security clearance has been completed since few months ago. Does this mean there is no problem with the security check and we have passed this part? 3- If we don't receive any news until Welcome Corps Phase 2 opens, can we find a sponsor and go to the US through Welcome Corps? Hi! I’m a German citizen (born and raised in Germany) and I had my visa appointment last year for a J1-visa (Au Pair). During my visa appointment I was told that my visa got approved and that I’ll receive it within 5-10 business days. It has now been a whole year. About two months after my appointment I was asked for additional information which I provided immediately. Since then they never reached out to me again. Every time I ask for a reason or a status update I get the same email over and over again which basically says that they’re working on it and they can’t tell me how long it’s going to take. They wouldn’t even provide me with the reason for administrative processing. My host family in the US has been waiting since then, and I didn’t even look for a job because I always hope my visa would arrive soon. Do you know what kind of possible reasons there are and what the longest case is? I don’t even know what to do anymore.

Hello. I'm so sorry to hear that you have been waiting for such a long time for your visa application. Although over one year is certainly a long time, it is not unheard of in my experience. I would suggest that you contact the embassy for an update but it seems you have done that countless times over the pat year. Unfortunately, there is no set time limit for administrative processing and only until there's a final decision will you have additional details on your application. As I don't have your application, I don't know of the reason as to why your application is held up. My advice would be to continue to ask for updates at the consulate but to also NOT continue to put your life on hold just in case the visa ends up being denied. Best of luck to you.

He said i need to wait a couple of weeks and get a mail and gave me a pink form which says "administrative processing". The status is refused and he gave me back my passport. I read that they changed it recently and administrative processing is shown as refused on the status, so thats normal i guess. But I'm worried because he gave back my passport. What do you think?

I went to the interview and they told me that my visa was approved, however online the status is saying administrative processing since the day if my interview but I haven’t gotten any email on any additional information. I wasn’t advice that my application was under processing, what made me check was that I realized that the business day that is required had passed. I how are you doing today. I applied for the J1 work and travel visa and my interview date was on the 9th of May. When the interview was over I was told by the officer that they are going to log a case for additional information and I was given a paper saying "your visa application requires additional administrative processing and they will contact me as soon as possible but no have reached out to me since. Unfortunately due to where you're from this is not unheard of (although it's the longest I have ever seen). Usually after such a long time a decision of approval or denial will be made. At this time I can only suggest to contact the consulate every few months for an update in the hopes that a final decision will be made soon. Good luck!

While the consular officials do take in consideration your start date, they still need to complete their entire process. Make sure that you keep in contact with your sponsor to update your SEVIS record at least every 30 days to ensure your SEVIS record doesn't go invalid. Good luck!

Hi. madame, I had my visa interview (F1) on 7 July 2022. It went well and the consular officer approved my visa and told me to pay the reciprocity fees (NIV issuance fees) which I did. They took my passport and told me would receive a mail to come to collect my passport in a few days. Same 7 July my ceac status showed "refused", I called the following week by 14, and I was told to be patient, I will receive a mail the following week. The following day 15, I received an email asking for prompt additional information which I provided. To date still waiting! So, I am under administrative process, can a visa be issued and denied again? What are the changes? How long will this process take Does the embassy consider student classes' start date so as to speed up the process? I am expected in school by 7 August!

Hello and my apologies that I missed your comment! I hope by now there's an update. But in case there's not: if you have not actually received your visa stamp in your passport returned to you it was not issued. Perhaps the consular officer said this without going through all of the steps but it does sound like your application is in administrative processing. There is no specific time frame to finalize everything. Good luck to you!

Hi, I applied for the J-1 visa last December and officer approved my visa and few days later I received the 221 (g), submitted all the information they requested and 1 month ago a consular officer called me to let me know they'll send my passport with visa in a couple of days. However, my status changed from Refused to Administrative processing, and no updates since that day. What should I expect then? I just read that I cannot contact them until 160 days passed. Also, I would like to know what can I do if I receive my visa but I cannot use because the DS-2019 expired.
